I was born in South Mississippi in 1954, lived there for most of my life and have lived in the Deep South my whole life. I have never seen or met one single KKK member or one single white supremist. I've met a lot of assholes and I have seen Black violence in every single place that I go, but I have never even seen a single KKK member.
I have lived in Kentucky most my life and seen maybe a couple ever, but it is nowhere near as common as people think. Open white supremacy is very rare. It is taboo almost everywhere. I lived in Japan for 4 years, and there was way more open Japanese supremacy and racism there than in USA by a million times.
