Ironically as far as I know Dan was also diagnosed with some kind of tumor in his throat or something similar, I don't even know if it is cancerous but somehow it's something just came to my mind. Good luck and good bless Dan and RIP Rush.
I think he'll be better. Longer format, means he can relax and make his arguments, which he can be very good at. I don't think he'll get lost in his habit of meathead displays of podcast aggression for the mouth ajar demographic he needs to keep occupied.
I don't know if Bongino is a 3 hour show kind of guy. His delivery is kind of like Mark Levin, it can be a little fatiguing. Rush had a perfect voice for radio that made it easy for long listening sessions. I'm not sure another unifying figure like Rush even exists yet. Its not something that can be forced.
The EIB owners probably see the handwriting on the wall. Perhaps they've decided that it's better to pick a mediocre host and let the show crash & burn, than pick a good one that can't possibly fill Rush' shoes, and be destroyed?
Should have been Dennis miller or hannity or Tucker or mark steyn or Larry elder or several others I can think of. I love bongino, just think he has his niche and here is still a big platform for someone else.

Dan was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, which was how I came to find him. But, he’s recently been given a clean bill of health.

I think it should be someone who's filled in for Rush. I understand Bongino has a fan base, but that doesn't necessary include Rush listeners.
