It’s fucking Texas they don’t have mask mandates anymore. And also, not wearing a mask is not an arrestable offense, u should get a ticket at the most. Then u can throw it away just like they did to trump votes

1
Necrovoter 1 point ago +1 / -0

Texas should take the next logical step and ban businesses that are open to the public from requiring masks.

They could issue it under the guise that mask requirements violate ADA rules.

Blood boiling Omg I will kill somebody

4
Ang77 4 points ago +8 / -4

Well that’s fishy, did she just come down here to start trouble? Because I’m in Texas and have been in many stores with no mask and have had zero problem.

5
LinWoodDidntKillHims [S] 5 points ago +7 / -2

Do you live a blue area. I know that not all of texas is red. She is making the case that because bank of america and office depot are not private property (not sure about that) she doesnt have to follow their mask policy because they are public businesses

2
Ang77 2 points ago +7 / -5

I am in a red area, I did see her first arrest and felt very sorry for her, but that changes if she’s from Oregon, visiting Texas. I mean two arrests in a short period, she’s just trying to start trouble. We are the friendly state, and who knows if the mask is the only problem at this point

6
LinWoodDidntKillHims [S] 6 points ago +6 / -0

Plenty of based people come from oregon. Portland has a lot of people thinking all of oregon is like that which is completely untrue. Look up greater Idaho. As for the woman starting trouble on purpose, i have no way of confirming or denying that. The only factual things are the mask mandates have been lifted and some places are still enforcing them. Oh and she's been arrested twice for trespassing and resisting arrest.

-3
Ang77 -3 points ago +3 / -6

Well the mask mandate was lifted, But it says businesses can still decide if they choose to require them. Most people in my area are not wearing them, I’d say about 20 percent are still wearing, but if you’re asked to put one on in a business, you have to choose to put the mask on or to walk out. So she can comply or leave.

0
Ang77 0 points ago +2 / -2

And I have no issue with anyone from another state, the majority of us all voted republican. All I’m saying is this lady read the headline, “no more masks”, and didn’t read the whole article.

3
Urusovite 3 points ago +4 / -1

We're friendly until you step on our toes. Liberals are stomping on our rights, government too, and illegals are destroying our state. I'm not feeling too friendly right now. I wouldn't call us the friendly state at the moment because I imagine many are feeling similar.

Private property means someone (including corporations) owns the property and pays taxes on it. Public property is owned by the citizens (ie government buildings, city/state/federal parks, etc) and is maintained by tax dollars. Private property can be open to the public as most businesses are but they are still private property and if you get out of hand, you can be asked to leave. If you refuse, then it become trespassing. If a peace officer is available and they ask you to leave & refuse, then it becomes criminal trespass. Businesses are in a tight spot because they feel obligated to "protect" their customers & employees. Because of the fear generated about masks by the media, there are many who feel the need to wear them even though the science shows they are fairly ineffective. So they tend to err on the side of caution. I don't agree with it but that is the way things are right now and that is where the fight should be. Had the woman gone into the business and was told to leave, she should have left and brought a civil suit but instead acted like a fucktard and broke the law by trespassing and got arrested.

Taylor3006 1 point ago +3 / -2

Who knows. We get so many refugees from other crappy states now there is no telling. These morons are saying she is being arrested for not wearing a mask. The truth is she is being arrested for criminal trespass. Here in Texas, private property is private and if you are told to leave it and refuse, you get your ass arrested. It is all so stupid but I suppose that is what our culture has become.

4
zerocooltx 4 points ago +4 / -0

This reminds me of adam carolla's bit about how we have gate keepers everywhere that make like $7.00/hr, have sub 100 iq's and we all just comply.

This is the same BofA footage, is there any recording of the Office Depot 2nd Arrest?

4
2224522 4 points ago +4 / -0

This whole nonsense that a “private business” can do what it wants is untrue. Can you have a bathroom with out a disable handle or a wide wheelchair entry? Can you have a pet rat In your restaurant? Can you have 20 tables and no fire escape? Are you allowed to open you bar without alcohol license? If the answer is no it’s not a private business. It’s owned by you and you have no say.

If there is no mask mandate in texas, but a business still requires you to wear a mask then that is the business exercising their freedom to operate said business as they want.

Simply put, she should not support or shop at a business that requires a mask. Vote with your dollars. That is how it should have been from the beginning. FREE WILL AND CHOICE for everyone and everyone's business.

1
2224522 1 point ago +1 / -0

They try and say “it’s a private business.” But can you discriminate against a woman over 40? No? How about a woman? How about 63 year old with a preexisting condition aka CS common sense?

-8
MAGA_Skull -8 points ago +7 / -15

fake news. arrested for trespass.

5
SentryS 5 points ago +8 / -3

Why were they trespassed??????? I'll wait....

6
Dialectic 6 points ago +10 / -4

He likes the dick. Probably will keep on wantin the dick when corporations conspire to not allow you to use their services if you’re MAGA or if you’re Christian.

It’s private business hur dur

-5
BlitheringIdiot -5 points ago +4 / -9

Yes, it is, and they have the right to do this, whether we like it or not.

5
Dialectic 5 points ago +8 / -3

Sorry you’re retarded, but businesses don’t get infinite power over customers.

-2
Taylor3006 -2 points ago +4 / -6

Businesses can set their own rules within the confines of the law. If they want customers to wear a mask, they can make that rule. If you don't like the rule and are asked to leave private property and refuse, you can be arrested for criminal trespass. It is very simple. If you don't like it, shop somewhere else. No one is being arrested for not wearing a mask. They are being arrested because they were told to leave and they refused. Fuck you commie bitches who think private property is public land.

3
Dialectic 3 points ago +5 / -2

Go to a different business

There are no others

Start your own

Banks refuse loans

Start your own bank

Feds refuse to allow it

——

And then when you faggots keep pursuing this over simplified view of what is happening, and businesses keep working with government to isolate dissenters, we end up with forced vaccinations, no food for MAGA people, no services whatsoever for anyone who disagrees with govt simply because the businesses are the ones carrying out the tyranny of the govt. and when you dare refuse to comply they send the police to curb stomp you because muh private business.

Just like in fucking China. You stupid faggots

-1
Taylor3006 -1 points ago +1 / -2

LOL ok whatever. Just keep your stupid ass off my property and if you do waddle your way onto it, leave when you are told because you will get arrested just like this dumbass bitch.

Taylor3006 1 point ago +1 / -0

That is correct DefLeprechaun. If anyone is in violation of the ADA, they need to be charged, prosecuted, & sued. Had that been the case here, I would support her and if on a jury, would find for her. But that isn't what has happened. Every court decision about Covid stuff, has constantly found for the defendants. Raising a stink like a child on someone else's property after they told you to leave is not lawful and you get your stupid ass arrested for criminal trespass.

-2
BlitheringIdiot -2 points ago +4 / -6

If you can't understand why this became trespassing, you're not too bright.

-6
BlitheringIdiot -6 points ago +3 / -9

They were asked to wear a mask and refused. They were then asked to leave and didn't.

9
SentryS 9 points ago +9 / -0

Lol. Name checks out.

Good job.

Why were they asked to wear a mask? And why would they want them to leave for not doing that?

-6
BlitheringIdiot -6 points ago +1 / -7

The business had a policy which she refused to follow, so she was asked to leave. She refused. Is this too hard for you to understand?

5
deleted 5 points ago +5 / -0
-1
BlitheringIdiot -1 points ago +1 / -2

How? It's their business and they can make any rules they wish. How is it that the people on this thread don't seem to see this? I suppose ideological purity is a helluva drug.

2
worldowedexplanation 2 points ago +2 / -0

You people sound like bots, you just regurgitate the same line.

-1
BlitheringIdiot -1 points ago +1 / -2

Fine. Please explain to me how this is not trespassing.

2
SentryS 2 points ago +2 / -0

You're attempts at framing this are embarrassing.

Why does the business have the policy?

Don't worry we are going very slowly for you so that you can understand why you chose your name. Don't jump ahead now.

-1
BlitheringIdiot -1 points ago +1 / -2

It's literally irrelevant why the business has the policy, even if coerced into it. Would you mind explaining, since I'm apparently retarded, how this is not, in the end, trespassing?

2
SentryS 2 points ago +2 / -0

Sure. Since you asked nicely.

Your opinion is irrelevant. The business cannot choose to enforce "policy" that would violate the 14th amendment and the civil rights act.

Their actions to enforce a "trespass" based on the (here's the most important part) context of refusing to wear a face covering is what separates your understanding from reality.
