I welcome this. He has legitimacy as a former cop and secret service agent that has seen the privelege of the elite without losing his spirit and his voice keeps you energized. I watched his show on podcast a lot back in 2019. The intro was MADE for radio and gets you pumped for his show to begin. Plus, he has these unique idiosyncrasies that make him memorable and will trigger nostalgia the way Rush did.
I think one of the best things Rush Limbaugh did was give a lot of air time to his listeners. Part of the joy of the show was getting to hear from all these people, and how Rush really let them formulate their ideas. At the point in a call when most hosts would hit mute and start a monologue, Rush would often ask follow-up questions and give the caller another five or ten minutes of air time. That is really unique in radio. When I would listen to Bongino’s podcast, I thought the biggest thing it needed was callers.
