why do minorities always have to bring race into something that's not race-related?

He's got a point on race stuff to a degree. BUT literally the thing that freed the slaves was AN AMENDMENT. Not the SCOTUS. Actually, the SCOTUS actually limited the Constitution and limited the rights of the people, not expanded them. It was the SCOTUS who said that the Bill of Rights doesn't apply to States, not the Constitution.

Also, he is a dangerous rep. He is worried that without the government taking 30+% of their labor, they won't be able to receive 25% of their state's budget. He's a coward, hate to say it.

Slavery was becoming less and less profitable and had already greatly decreased in the Upper South by the time of the Civil War. With the invention of the cotton gin, slavery had only a limited time in the Deep South, too.
