Well, no homosexual couple has the motivation to be as monogamous as a heterosexual couple. No babies.
Homosexuals men are much more loose. Probably have more sex than anybody, thanks to the male sex drive without the pushback of women. My wife and I are friends with a gay couple who have been together longer than we have -- but openly admit theirs is an "open" relationship.
Lesbians, more debatable.
I think the reason for Lesbian domestic violence would be -- men are more trained to show restraint than women. Don't hit a girl, etc. True, not all men internalize or obey this, or may lose their temper. But the background is there.
Many years ago I read a message board that was discussions among security officers and the like. The wide-spread agreement was it would be easier to work at a maximum-security men's prison than any women's prison. Reason being -- violence between men is ritualized. You know how it's coming. They glare, they shout, there's some shoving -- and you know the punches are about to fly.
Women's prisons, there's no warning. They don't have the same rituals. She's calm one moment, the security guard turns around, and the violent woman jumps on their back like a panther, scratching and biting and gouging without any warning.
