I've been reading Mackay's famous book Extraordinary Popular Delusions And The Madness Of Crowds ever since this dumbness began and yeah, the witch burners and tulip maniacs and fake prophets of doom were nothing compared to Fauci & Co. What was once in the hands of cranks and amateurs has now been elevated (?) into streamlined multi-channel professionalism.
