I admit I don't know enough about what Putin is actually doing in Russia. But I DO know that one of the first things he did when he took power was to put a bunch of oligarchs in prison. So he's +1 right off the bat. And smashing LBGT in Russia was a pretty boss move too.
When your completely corrupt government installs a potato as figurehead and cements it's illegitimacy, then begins rounding up political dissidents and making them political prisoners, it's time to learn to juggle and make balloon animals.

He's a tyrant. But damn if he isn't good for some laughs at the expense of all the right people.
Sometimes tyranny of one is better than the tyranny of many (oligarchy) or of all (democracy).
I wouldn't want to live under him, but he's certainly the enemy of my enemy in regards to the DNC and China.
Benevolent tyrants are hard to come by.
