Looking for context because it’s all I see now and I’m Chinese. Despite the whole China virus thing, racism towards Asians is the least of my concerns lmao.
Black based gangs in Oakland were hitting Chinese and Korean based business owners pretty hard in a series of targeted attacks over the past month. As you are most likely aware, the US MSM has a narrative that disallows any criticism of US black culture, let alone mentioning inter ethnic crime rates. So, instead of actually addressing the real issue of inner city organized crime group centered around ethnically based gangs hitting minority neighborhoods, they must change the narrative. So now we have an "Asian attack" scare. Next will be the media assigning blame on the wrong group. Anyone disagreeing or questioning this narrative will be excoriated and exiled.
What's frustrating about this, aside from the obvious deflection on the part of the local news, is that there is still a criminalmon the loose, and we--the public--don't even know who to look out for because someone in a news room is worried about being called a racist. It's just like the recnt decision from MUNI (Public transportation in the California Bay Area) to not release security tapes showing crimes because doing so would be racist.

Not saying you’re wrong, Oakland is a rough place. Do you have sources?
Yeah. It's all over the San Francisco Chronicle as well as local news. Notice the lack of photo or description of perp in all news stories.
Ah yes, the race of the criminals are hidden if they don’t fit the narrative. Classic.
