Ann Coulter makes a very important point in "Adios, America!" and elsewhere: There is a big difference between "settlers" and "immigrants"/economic migrants. Settlers explored the wilderness, cut the trees, surveyed the land, designed the buildings and roads, set up a system of laws and enforcement to maintain public safety. Immigrants (legal or otherwise) and economic migrants come along after the fact, to reap the benefits of our once-great Nation because their "country of origin" does not have a successful economic system nor provide unlimited welfare/housing/healthcare to their own citizens.
That situation is sad but: it's not our problem because it's not our country. It sucks to be them but screw 'em, it's their lot in life. Nobody ever threw money at me or offered to suspend the laws for me just because of my race/ethnicity, I see no reason to turn the priorities of my country over to illiterate economic-migrant Replacement Voters/"New Americans" just because they come from an impoverished place.
