I can understand Republicans that don't want to deport these people, but citizenship?

It's almost as if they don't realize that "Permanent Resident" is an option.

If you cross the border illegally, citizenship should be off the table for life. That doesn't mean everyone has to be deported, but there's no reason to give them, or their children, the ability to vote at any point in their lives.

Their children born on US soil will have citizenship and will vote Dem down the line. It is delayed suicide.

You don’t have to deport them all. Employment verification and real enforcement will dry up all the jobs and they’ll leave themselves.

Permanent residency is just a stop on the road to amnesty anyway. Any Republican touting that as a middle ground is pro-amnesty
