more laughter... including the middle aged woman in question.

Then most every staff member there gave some small comment or nod to being "over all this anyway."

It was just very refreshing and revealing that even basically all the people mandated into these things in the medical field are just laughing at how stupid it all is.

Must not be in California. The stooges want to virtue signal forever.

Yes you're correct about that. I live in the middle of the country, though it is in a metro area and not rural.

Amen. I'm vaccinated and I'm not allowed into my doctor's office without a double mask. They make me wear a surgical mask over my cloth one. WTAF?

And I know it's not just because I have a MAGA mask, they're making everyone do it.

I'm dreading a trip to the dentist, but it's overdue. Maybe I'll fly out to a Red State for that.

Insist on wearing a mask while they look at your teeth. Really play up the insanity.

I should mess with them, but my Dentist is actually my former college roommate and he knows me too well to take any crap from me.

Yup, my recent visit to a California doctor was exactly as you describe.

Very sad, I used to like that doc.

Mine mentioned that my chance of heart failure due to my cholesterol was .06%. I said, “like covid”. She didn’t say anything and never came back with my paperwork at the end. I liked her too.

Me: "can you give me a vaccine exemption"

Him: "What condition do you have that would warrant an exemption?"

Me: "Common sense"

Him: "I don't want to talk politics"

Me: "But I was asking a medical question............"

Oh boy. I hope you get the exemption. I feel bad for her. I genuinely like her. They are all getting brainwashed. It’s sad. It’s actually scarier than covid.

That's a great point. The mistrust in our professional class is going to have a bigger long-term impact than the hoax ever could.

I ruined that story... the title was supposed to say she was talking the receptionist with her mask OFF... obviously.

The typo was easy to figure out.

Two of my doctor's don't believe in mask but wear them bc they may get sued.

Related note of optimism:

I went to a small town restaurant/bar yesterday, and it was packed at 4pm for the holiday celebration. All ages, plenty of older folks, almost everyone acting normal with only a few screwing around with masks. Lots of drinking, lots of laughs, everyone in a great mood. People were shaking my hand, touching me in the shoulder, and I even got a kiss on the cheek! 🤗

Felt the same way at a bar in NY tonight.

Our state finally allowed us to play games like darts again at bars. Must wear mask unless sitting down. I took mine off, or powered it while playing and drinking while standing.

Workers and patrons joked with us saying things like "wow, you guys fucking suck at darts, almost like you haven't played in a year!" (because it's been "banned" since last March due to our dictator Cuomo).

Others said things like "Woah, we can play darts again? We're actually going to be allowed to have freedom? How neat"

I can confirm, healthcare staff are fucking over the mask bullshit and have been for a long time.

Not where I live. They are among the most ardent enforcers of "the rules".

You also get scolded that they are medical professionals and "what do you know peasant?"
