When I was a kid, rhinos were about to disappear. One rhino subpopulation, the southern white rhino, was in a country that legalized the ranching of rhinos and the sale of their horn through a legal market. The others were treated with conventional environmentalism.
In the interim, a couple of species went extinct, and there are few left even in captivity of several species...
Except for the southern white rhino. There are tens of thousands of them! Watching this happen has been almost the largest red pill of my whole life. As a real conservationist, results are what I want: not slogans and tear-jerking songs.
This is real. The reasoning is it's easier/ less stressful on the animal's internals as opposed to strapping them sideways onto a gurney and it's cheaper and less time consuming than the latter to boot. At least that's what some Cornell study supposedly found out.
rhino population could have been easily preserved had we allowed trading of rhino horn.
in south africa it is now legal to raise your own rhinos for horn and the rhino population increases because private ranchers in soith africa are breeding, raising, and protecting their rhino cattle.
but all these western non profits about conservation doesnt like that so they're lobbying hard to make the practice illegal again.
I would be fine with blindfolding Romney, and relocating him via upside down bungee cord helicopter ride to the best wildlife refuge in Central Africa. There he could live out his days free from the fear that he might be chased out of the capital by an angry mob again, and we would be rid of him without having to break out the pitchforks. A win for all involved.

Kill the poachers then if they get caught and make it so severe that they'll have to really think about if it's worth it or not.
