Rights are outlined by the constitution, but a piece of paper can't do anything to protect those rights. The constitution protects your rights as effectively as a speed limit sign controls how heavy your foot is on the gas pedal.

The bill of rights was specifically written to prohibit the federal government from treating its citizens like serfs; they specifically couldn't violate those freedoms given to us by our creator. We are long past the point of the government overstepping their constitutional role.

I openly tell people, "I hope I'm not one of the first they try to round up; they already openly plan on exterminating me(or anyone like me), and I will fight back. If I see it, it will probably happen to me soon, so why wouldn't I come to their aid. If it gets that bad, we're all already dead anyway."
