The left needs to stop fucking romanticizing everything.
The homeless aren’t just random people who are down on their luck, and who would have a home if it wasn’t for evil capitalism. At least half of them are homeless because they want zero responsibility and they choose the lifestyle. They don’t mind preying on society to survive. These are the ones who make life living hell when they move into your town.
About 25% are drug addicts who are so enslaved by their habit that the rest of their life took a back seat. About 20% are mentally ill, and couldn’t maintain a home if they even had one, and that last 5% are the people who truly could use the help.
All this money will do is cause a lot of overdoses.
Sounds harsh but if people want to live with zero responsibility let them die of drug overdoses if it comes to that.
The people choosing to live that way choose it, the ones that are mentally ill have no place to go besides the ground dead or an insane asylum, the drug addicts who go homeless are most likely not going to be able to kick the habit sense they have became enslaved to the habit, and the small portion that can be helped well the 1,400 will do something for them but still not as good as you know a full time job in a fully open economy.
