Republicans are walking into a trap if they agree to let Cuomo go. Cuomo, as bad as he is, is better than ANYBODY else the Dems want in office. The Dems want a socialist to be the governor of NY. In my opinion, Republicans should reach out to Cuomo allies and strike a deal: If you can ensure voter integrity and ensure the electoral process is free of issues, we will block any impeachment efforts against you.
As strange as it is to say, the Republican minority has the most bargaining chips in NY right now. IMO the priorities for protecting Cuomo should be 1. Voter integrity 2. Taxes 3. Gun laws.
They most likely won't get 3, so I would be content with 1 and 2.
