I started feeling this way when my grandparents were constantly arguing that we can never go back to normal after COVID-19. Well, that’s easy for you to say. You got 70+ years of working to improve your circumstances and enjoying the fruits of your labor. I now see a lot of older individuals as incredibly selfish. Many senior citizens will yell at you if you’re outside and not wearing a mask, but fail to get that they have the option to stay home if they want to stay “safe”. They get designated hours to shop without any other age demographics now, were prioritized over children when it comes to health because health of those already past the average age of life expectancy is apparently way more valuable than raising our youngest generations up and making sure they’re healthy in all ways. I grew up in an Asian town and most of my childhood friends are Asian. It seems like most Asian that are immigrants or first gen and moved here before 2010 or so are relatively conservative, or at least centrist. In my experience it's the 2nd gen kids or the relatively recent immigrants that generally skew hard left.
Maybe it's the college influence. A lot of Asians are big about getting into the "right" schools, but a lot of said schools are indoctrination hellholes these days.

Many black and brown people come from a culture where progress and success is looked down on, you will often find those who succeed being labeled as Uncle Tom, or acting white, far too many come from a single parent household often collecting and relying on social services. Meanwhile you have Asians who strongly push academic rigor, more often than not come from a 2 parent household, rarely collect social services.

I started feeling this way when my grandparents were constantly arguing that we can never go back to normal after COVID-19. Well, that’s easy for you to say. You got 70+ years of working to improve your circumstances and enjoying the fruits of your labor. I now see a lot of older individuals as incredibly selfish. Many senior citizens will yell at you if you’re outside and not wearing a mask, but fail to get that they have the option to stay home if they want to stay “safe”. They get designated hours to shop without any other age demographics now, were prioritized over children when it comes to health because health of those already past the average age of life expectancy is apparently way more valuable than raising our youngest generations up and making sure they’re healthy in all ways. I’m honestly saddened. Our older generations have become incredibly selfish and do not think about future generations.

I grew up in an Asian town and most of my childhood friends are Asian. It seems like most Asian that are immigrants or first gen and moved here before 2010 or so are relatively conservative, or at least centrist. In my experience it's the 2nd gen kids or the relatively recent immigrants that generally skew hard left.
Maybe it's the college influence. A lot of Asians are big about getting into the "right" schools, but a lot of said schools are indoctrination hellholes these days.
I know personally one girl who was initially pretty conservative but went hard left after extended time living in Seattle.

I believe it almost exclusively stems from culture. Many black and brown people come from a culture where progress and success is looked down on, you will often find those who succeed being labeled as Uncle Tom, or acting white, far too many come from a single parent household often collecting and relying on social services. Meanwhile you have Asians who strongly push academic rigor, more often than not come from a 2 parent household, rarely collect social services.
There of course are outliers and these are generalizations… but the overall numbers don’t lie.
