I wonder why PragerU decided to use 21 as the age for having kids?
That seems like an arbitrary number based on the drinking age. I guess they’re saying that if you have kids you’re going to want to drink, so make sure you can do it legally?
I guess it's carrying on the nuclear family thing where kids are supposed to be booted out on their own when they hit 18 and "find themselves" before settling down.
With a larger family like on family farms and stuff kids can become financially stable and responsible enough to raise their own by the time the rest of us are snorting adderall in college. That'd go a long way toward reversing our failing birthrates though, so gotta make sure we worry more about becoming middle-class and buying our own McMansion in the suburbs
Also, if you're not going to college, working in the trades or other blue-collar fields, the money is a lot better after you have some experience and learn some skills on the job.
Most people are significantly more mentally and emotionally mature at 21 than at 18. A few years' experience living as an adult probably helps prospective parents make better financial decisions, too.
