I guess I could clarify that every BCM rifle I was looking at is out of stock, everywhere I’ve looked. Not sure what else to look into.

Just get one, you can change out parts that you don't like. It doesn't have to be branded, as most of the "mil-spec" parts are made in the same place. Most of the differences are fit and finish.

Yes, the BCM rifle will have parts better than even an issued M4 (minus the fun switch), as are most AR-15's. Yes, some companies went the easy route of cheap foreign parts- mostly South Korean or Chinese, but you would be surprised about the large number of inexpensive parts made here in the USA.

The best route would be to build your rifle from your preferred specific parts and a regular lower receiver from AERO Precision or even Anderson. Yeah, you may consider them "cheap", but they are built to the same spec as the rest of the easily sourced stripped lower receivers. If it really bugs you, you can always swap out the lower when things get better...
