True story: I was working in western Africa during the first Obama administration. I went out back to have a smoke and some of the local guys were out there huddled around a tiny radio listening to the news (that's a thing there). Apparently it was O's turn to bomb Syria, and one of the guys blurted out "What is Obama going to do next? Send his GAY military?" The rest of his group found that to be hilarious and once they noticed me standing there (6'2, 270lbs. of American RedNexcellence) they STFU and started looking busy. I thought that was a really interesting lesson on different cultures and perceived strength. One gay marine could have wrecked that whole group, but they laughed at our country because the third world sees our open mindedness as a weakness. A couple of days later I told one of the guys that the U.S. military was indeed enlisting homosexuals for a special occupation force that would be capable of capturing entire cities and sodomizing all of the men. Then they would give all of the women guns and machetes. I must admit that I enjoyed seeing the fear in his eyes.
