If any rules are going to be broken, the preferred method should be to expose Democratic fraud. The goal is fair elections, and it is hard to see how compensatory cheating helps achieve that goal.
Trying to change elections laws is another matter. If Democrats are alarmed enough that Republicans might create unfair election laws, they will be more likely to agree to more stringent controls.
