When people talk about sworn officers, and taking an oath when you sign up for the military, that oath states you will defend and uphold the constitution. Members of the military and law enforcement and legally obligated to not follow any order that directly violates the constitution. That being said, if the dems do abolish the second amendment somehow I genuinely believe the majority of enlisted soldiers would go awol and cops would side largely with the people, at least in the more rural parts of the country.
