A friend of mine who is a raging leftist (yes, I know) invited my family and me to visit her summer house this summer, but she said we have to be vaccinated. I told her that if she and her family are vaccinated, why should it matter whether we are vaccinated? If the vaccine works, you're protected. It's been a while since I've gone to school, but I'm pretty sure that's what a vaccine is supposed to do.

She claimed that the vaccine does not protect you from getting covid, but it lessens the symptoms when you get it. I have no idea whether this is the case, but it sounds pretty weird to me. I reminded her that in my family we all have had it already and with minimal symptoms, they really couldn't have been much less. I told her that if the vaccine doesn't prevent people from getting the virus, then the vaccine sucks and there's no point in us getting it. I told her that if it will make her feel better, I'll lie to her and say we all got it if we decide to come. Not that we will actually go, because my wife doesn't want to associate with any democrats anymore, but that's another story.

Very bizarre, these leftists.

My family all got the vaccine. They’re not liberals just watched too much CNN and think I’m a conspiracy theorist. Never been any fighting - they’re not into politics and aren’t even registered to vote.

When they ask why I won’t get it I ask them if the vaccine works and you trust it how could I or anyone else get you sick. You either trust it or you don’t. And that’s the end of it. No yelling or threatening to have no contact.

I just tell most people that I'll take the vaccine when either a) my doctor tells me I need it or b) when government workers with guns force me to take it. I haven't had any actual arguments, but certainly some odd conversations with people who have been programmed to want it, but with no idea why.

My dad at least will acknowledge that the hysteria is political motivated to get Trump out but got it because my mom asked him to and he didn’t want to be told by my sister-in-laws they can’t see the grandkids. Luckily no one in the family - 8 of them got it and have had no bad reactions. Just tired and their arm was sore for a day.

Although I am waiting for someone to start growing a tail 🤣😆
