A friend of mine who is a raging leftist (yes, I know) invited my family and me to visit her summer house this summer, but she said we have to be vaccinated. I told her that if she and her family are vaccinated, why should it matter whether we are vaccinated? If the vaccine works, you're protected. It's been a while since I've gone to school, but I'm pretty sure that's what a vaccine is supposed to do.
She claimed that the vaccine does not protect you from getting covid, but it lessens the symptoms when you get it. I have no idea whether this is the case, but it sounds pretty weird to me. I reminded her that in my family we all have had it already and with minimal symptoms, they really couldn't have been much less. I told her that if the vaccine doesn't prevent people from getting the virus, then the vaccine sucks and there's no point in us getting it. I told her that if it will make her feel better, I'll lie to her and say we all got it if we decide to come. Not that we will actually go, because my wife doesn't want to associate with any democrats anymore, but that's another story.
Very bizarre, these leftists.
2 things. Politics shouldn't be THE determining factor in a friendship. Lastly, YOUR assumptions on vaccines are incorrect. Many vaccines just give the body a head start on creating a defense that in effect shorten and lessen symptoms. The COVID vaccine isn't a vaccine though...its a gene therapy.
I try to tell my wife that. I'm friends with plenty of democrats and my wife is ok with most of them, but just doesn't want to be around them. At least not yet. Me, I love to talk politics with them. I especially love to pin Biden, Cuomo and DiBlasio on them and watch them squirm. I always refer to them as "your boy Cuomo". When they say "he's not my boy" I tell them "you voted for him twice and even now you'd vote for him again if he was the democrat nominee." It's kind of mean but also awesome to watch them stammer and squirm because they know it's true.
This one friend in particular though is particularly nutty so there's no way we're going to her summer house. She hates veterans for some reason, she thinks taxes should be higher, and she's kind of racist which I really don't like. Still, we've been friends a long time and everyone has their faults. Some more than others.
As for the vaccine, I honestly haven't looked much into it. I have no plan to take it since I already had covid, I'm in excellent health, I'm not elderly and I'm not overweight.
Ask her if she freely sends in extra taxes to the Treasury. See if she bites.
You shouldn't associate with bad people. If they have Leftist politics then they are bad, genocidal people.
No they aren't. SOME maybe ..but certainly not the majority
Yes, all. They may not understand all that they are doing but they support it and in doing so bear the responsibility and are evil.
