Signature matching would be great for an audit if it is possible. Mrs. Brickman testified at the senate hearing that signatures were not verified. They turned the authenticity dial from 15 to 1. Signatures only needed one point of similarity. One point is the same as zero points of similarity i.e., no verification.

Of course it's ideal to inspect paper ballots, but you could still detect pre-filled printed ballots from scans. (Depending on the scan settings, and how large the jpg files are, and if you can zoom into the details). I think most people can take a close look at a ballot oval and tell if it was filled out by a printer or a person.

If by "scanning the ballots" is meant allowing the genius having invented the QR code access to scanning them, since he stated that he can detect fake ones, then I am all for that being done. Otherwise, signature verifications are a must....and if Gavin Gruesome in California can demand signature verification for his recall, then Arizona can follow suit.
