If you ever feel that "doom" coming on, rally the group, brainstorm how you can change things, and execute the plan. Whether it's a simple "vote" or "we need voter ID laws with absentee ballots and so we need to call X" to "my school board is infiltrated, I need on that school board."
Everybody gets down and ready to just give in... but like you say there are people here to demoralize us. Doomers will come back on the train, because they realize there is no way off this train and it will keep going no matter how many speed bumps, road blocks, up hill battles, or tunnels it has to go through.
