They did kill a shit ton of Communists though, perhaps we should of let them go a bit further with it. Saving Europe was waste of American lives, they are all a bunch of cunts and would of been better if they all killed each other.
Only after they declared war on most of the entire world and assured themselves that they would lose as diplomatically they made some huge, really idiotic mistakes that made things damn near impossible for them to win. Because of their failures half of Europe was communist and so was China.
We spent relatively few lives in Europe compared to every other world power, but made our mistake seeking an unconditional surrender from Germany when the military wanted Hitler gone and we could have insured that most of their holdings in central and Eastern Europe didn't fall to the Soviets.

The mistake was allying with the Communists to begin with and helping the Soviets rape and pillage Europe.
