Though the US has somethings better the UK has some as well. It's a bit of a shame but people forget that when the US broke away from the UK one of the compelling reasons was that they came to learn a lot of our rights were mere illusions, you had them so long as you didn't bother the elite and they didn't want anything from you, sort of free range livestock. Your free so long as it works in favour of the elite or rather it's at their leisure.
However we still have ingrained in our culture some of those principles which live among the people. People forget the US revolution was significantly orchestrated by British people having settled in the USA and we're just as capable of such bloodshed at home if we're mistreated and god willing.
The law is quite complicated but here's one thing you might find interesting. If a cop tries to arrest me just because he feels like it then I can resist. If necessary it may become lethal. That's because his power is solely for a specific purpose and if used otherwise it's no longer valid, he's just a random person detaining or kidnapping you.
This is different to the USA where you usually must comply no matter what barring extreme circumstances then if it's wrong sort it out later. At the same time a lot of our self defence laws are messed up where you can't do anything and have to let them do all the damage then leave it to later even when it's not things that can be made up for later.
We both really need a new breed of leader or rather an old one that remembers how things really work.
Having weak police in situations like this is actually quite useful. They are maintained at a bear minimum so if push comes to shove and we rise up we won't be met with much resistance. It is a shame about actual crime though. I could go out into the street now, hit someone on the back of the head with the brick when no one else is around, run off and they would be lucky to even see a police officer because they're too busy and the crime has already happened with the criminals long gone nothing they can do about it now.
If I say something Sadiq Khan doesn't like on Facebook on the other hand I'll have police poking around trying to get me to say something they can prosecute me for.
I do have to say though I am envious of 2A there is something quite sporting about being out on the field fighting Khan's army of half pint pot bellied goons wearing high viz safety jackets like a bunch of kids on a school trip with your bare fists.
What is the point of having police there with no guns, batons, shields, clubs, spray, helmets, or horses???
The UK literally just slaps crossing guard vests on the officers and sends them out to an angry mob lmao?
Maybe if they get their asses kicked enough they'll learn the value of a firearm.

Not that bad. Haven't seen a Millwall brick yet.
