Doubly so when the "taxes" that you pay and your employer pays for you (not to include property taxes and whatever other misc bullcrap they dream up) end up costing you more than you bring home. All taxation is theft; taxation over 50% is by definition tax slavery.
And yet nothing is ever done.
If we'd only make taxes paid like a 1099, they'd be gone in a year. Whenever the average Joe sees his take-home pay go from like 60k to nearly six figures and then gets a letter at tax time saying he needs to pay a ~50k check to the IRS, all those Joes will march down to Town Hall and demand that all this bullcrap be stopped.
Of course, again, that won't happen. The system is designed to sap wealth from those who produce and give it to the powerful and to the leeches that elected them. Of course, Dominion may just render that middle-man obsolete and allow the powerful to steal most all of the wealth directly.
