If you've not read 'Mere Christianity' or his other works on religion I recommend them highly. He writes in a way that makes very deep subject matter easy to follow.
Take a deep breath before the 'Screwtape Letters' though.
seems like an unfair generalization. There's a LOT of different things that can be called "religion".
Not to mention most of the religions lose, abandon, our outright crucify what they already had, and then are destroyed, expelled, or scattered by God within a very short time period.
So whatever it even is today, isn't what it used to be.
Utah is the worst example of this. Even just the last 30 years they've gone from whatever they were to Devil Pope Catholicism 2.
The Nicene creeds did that to the churches built by the apostles.
The Talmud and Midrash did that to what used to be the children of Judah and the tribes of Israel.
Though it had already happened under Zedekiah of Judah, Hosea of Israel, and by the Romans to the Pharisees.
The individual is the only place I say you can find "religion".
And the individual who trusts in God alone and comes to know him, and His son whom he has sent.
The world history of "religion" is a very tragic one, and it's all due to the rebellious stupidity of mankind.
Atheism is for dummies.
They're only pretend atheists when there's no apparent danger and they are in sight of people.
They fear mocking more than death, which is why they dish out insults and can't take em back.
If you have been conned into "atheism", just admit your mistake and move on.
It linguistically means anti-god and is by nature and aggressive "hate-speech" term.
I give NO quarter to self-described atheists on their linguistic ignorance.
It's probably why "atheists" don't think clearly, they can't even speak precisely and accurately.
The Lord is good, his mercy is everlasting, and his truth endureth through all generations. Amen.
Man I love CS Lewis.
Now that I'm an adult, I finally saw how the Narnia books were symbolism for religious sermons to kids.
Taught me so much and I didn't even realize it until hollywood butchered his books in film.

Everything I needed to know about God I learned from C. S. Lewis and Madeline L'Engle <3
