Then I saw how quickly people abandon it and what follows after, what we're living in now. Christ's message is exceptional and anyone who thinks otherwise is pampered by a long Christian history to the point of being spoiled.
Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
"Forguve us our tresspasses..."
The 23 psalm is great but unfortunately Christians interpret "forgiveness" as letting people walk all over you.
Preaching that forgiveness means you must allow people to abuse and destroy is of the devil. Never doubt that evil has infiltrated the church and its goal is to make Christians weak and ineffective.
I'm not Christ, I won't ask people to forgive. At this point all I want is for people to feel guilty when they don't forgive, instead of reveling in it and looking for ways to be better at it.
That goes for you, too. I won't judge you for what you do (Again, not Christ) but I pray and have faith you at least wish there were a peaceful way. I ask you to keep an eye open for it, because it could come, like Christ, at any moment.
The road to Hell is paved with good intentions and surely there are many people with good intentions arrayed against us. I don't know what to do about it, I just feel better for posting.
I've spent my entire life wishing for a peaceful way. If the church had done its job, we could have handled it peacefully.
Instead the church teaches passiveness and apathy. God did not intend for us to be useless blobs of flesh who go slither on the ground for evil to walk on.
Throughout history God has called for violence. When he had to fix the things his lazy children wouldnt take care of, he destroyed cities with fire and brimstone and destroyed the earth with water. You dont get much more violent than that.
The church has been infiltrated and divided in order to make Gods people ineffective. Why do you think churches have tax exempt status? To keep churches from getting involved in elections.
Wake up. God is not a passive God. Jesus was not a passive man. We have to be warriors if there is any hope of stopping the evil that has permeated our world. They are not playing nice and they dont care if we are nice. Being nice and being passive will not appease them. They have one purpose and that's your destruction.
So I stand by my belief that if Gods people dont get active then our world is lost forever. In some ways it already is.
As Good Friday is rapidly approaching, it is not inappropriate to point out that the crux of Christianity rests in Jesus' resurrection;
If Jesus did rise from death, then everything about the Bible is true. If He did not, then Jesus was just one more, human philosopher.
So how do we know it is true or not?
One way is that several of His apostles admit to having been cowards after Jesus died. They were literally cowering in a locked room, hoping the Roman soldiers would not find them and drag them out for a similar fate.
Then Jesus appeared, with a new, immortal body, that He let them touch...even stick their fingers in the wounds.
After that, they no longer have any fear at all. They know they are going to die, and they preach the Word until they are silenced. No one would do that if it was bs, if they, like Thomas, hadn't seen it with their own eyes.
Everyone but John was executed, including all of Jesus' half-brothers. They were covered in pitch and set alight. They were thrown to lions in front of great crowds, many clutching their children. They were crucified, beheaded, and stoned to death.
Willingly.
Because they knew the truth about Jesus.
I forgive people but still want them to have adequate consequences for their misdeeds. The forgiveness just frees ME from being emotionally tied to them. I think that’s where you were going with this.
Yes, that is 80% of where I'm going with this, but for the selfish reason that I have a lot of family tied up in the Big Lie right now and I know in my heart I would forgive them everything if they would just turn away. To protect them, I want all of us to have forgiveness in our hearts for people who turn away.
The other 20% is the families of other people, whom I know are being prayed for. I want to protect them, too, if only they take a single step.
