I think people just really don’t like it that their friends and family are getting it because they think it is risky and has the potential to do a lot of damage. mRNA vaccines needed a lot more time for research and they are risky as they are new technology. I think that we are more disappointed that people turned off their critical thinking caps and got the vaccine, especially if they are healthy.
Like, for example: my sister, who caught COVID, got the vaccine. I was aghast when I heard that. I was on a plan that I would only get the vaccine after a year or so of it being publicly distributed, figuring that either I wouldn’t need it after a year or it would be shown to be safe, but my dumbass sister got the experimental vaccine after getting sick with COVID and having the damn antibodies.
It is this type of stuff that drives me insane and why people really think that the vaccine is evil and dislike those who get it.

She caught a virus that made herself unable to taste or smell anything for an extended period of time. This virus triggered the PCR tests for COVID-19. The PCR tests are unreliable, but it makes sense to me that losing sense of smell and/or taste is a symptom unique to what the media are calling COVID.
Whether or not that was COVID-19 or not does not change the fact she did catch something and that she has immunity from it and that she apparently decided after becoming immune from it to get a vaccine that doesn’t even really prevent you from catching COVID but lessens symptoms according to the doctors.

I got the shot and don't really regret it. It's a risk, but I made the calculation as carefully as I could based on my personal situation. Could see not getting it too but chose differently.
Most problems are very nuanced. Wanting to see how the vaccine turns out is completely reasonable. I am upset with people like Fauci and others who want to force people to get the vaccine. It is ridiculous. Wanting to wait and see for long-term considerations is reasonable, especially when it is new technology and a year is reasonable for any bad side effects to start displaying themselves if they exist in the long-term.
