People think that if everyone has a gun, homicides will skyrocket. This is a lie. Once you actually own a lethal device, MOST people will seek ways to not have to use it, not search for motives to destroy a life. I've owned many calibers, and didn't even fire a single bullet from most of them. I just enjoy them, from their appearance to their inner workings. They're amazing feats of engineering. Something I've learned a long time ago and still rings true: It's better to have something and not need it, than need it and not have it. If a gun is something that's hard for you to acquire, maybe it's God's way of telling you you're not ready for it. Be patient, but don't give up.

I like shooting guns a lot. I think many do. if I shoot an animal I understand the logic and wish it to suffer. I understand its going to die. same for humans, except I have no logic by which they should die, so I'm extremely careful and paranoid about the gun safety.
I think a lot of people who get guns legally are like this - much more aware of the value of life
Great stuff. They are terrific pieces of engineering.
