this shit is dumb. it is a 100% pure virtue signal by the company. no one who consumes the sports illustrated product is asking for this. this is not being done for their audience it is a diversion tactic to look woke and hope the feminists dont come for them for putting out a swimsuit calendar for decades that objectifies whamens

And yes, pre-internet there was at least a reason for the swimsuit edition, with this crap there's only a strong reason never to give them another penny.

What I don't get is how these declining companies manage to stay afloat. Sure the virtue signal creates a quick influx of cash but they must be lying to their advertisers the rest of the time. No one buys their magazines and their website is ranked 74,000.
