I've seen it argued that no one told the other workers and the media to go home, that they all just up and decided to do that of their own accord. That's a lie, of course, but it's also just silly. Why would they do that? And even IF they did, is it legal to leave behind only four or five dem workers to continue "counting" ballots? No.
I like how the end of the article sums it up. The narrative is that somebody said at 10:30 pm, "Okay, wrap it up. We know America is anxious to see the results, but we're going to go home now and just come back in ten hours."
And then when the poll watchers came back at 1 am after realizing they were still counting, they were like, "Oh yeah, we were still counting but we just stopped a few minutes ago. Sorry."
