I'd bet half of that cost is "additional liability fees" can't imagine those hotel rooms will be left in immaculate condition. Expect anything of value not nailed down to disappear 😉.

Exactly. Those rooms are probably around $100/night normally. But if I'm a hotel owner and know (a) the type of "customer" I'll be hosting and (b) knowing it's the federal government who's "paying the bill", you bet your ass I'm going to make sure I get as much out of the deal as I can.

It's not the us government that's paying, its us. 300 a night for 6 months is more than 50 grand per room. That's not liability fees, it's greed.

Greed? If I own a hotel I'd charge out the ass too to host them. Don't care who is footing the bill.
