Lots of people would never go to Gab and why can't their be multiple websites? Trump could be building something small for just him and a handful of personalities as he needs a spot where his voice can be heard. After Twitter and big tech fucked him over repeatedly can you blame him for wanting to be in control? How does this threaten Gab in the slightest or is this just whiney dooming from people who think Gab should snowball into something massive?
It's not a "threat" to Gab. It's the opposite, Gab has shown they can withstand five years of constant attack. They've proven resistant to threats the way others haven't.
Myself and many others echoed similar concerns about Parler (poor infrastructure, backed by neocons), that all quickly came to pass.
Trump's not a neocon and he won't be putting it on AWS with how they treated Parler. I trust in Trump and in the mean time Gab can beef up their site, make it more secure and update their look and algorithms. They're big boys, they can compete.

As for other's services, they will fight him tooth and nail. He's going to have all his own options in 2-3 months? No, it will be operated by RINOs at best almost assuredly.
I hope not, but history doesn't bode well for it. Go with the tried and true, not the proven failed model of Parler.
