Gosh Mary Shelley wrote a novel making that very point. What was the name of that book? Ah yes, Frankenstein. Named after a Dr. named Frankenstein who obsessed about becoming the Creator. And what happened when he "succeeded.
by that line of thinking, we'd never have had cardiac and brain surgeons or intrauterine surgery on spina bifida babies. we are made in His image, after all. still, i appreciate having a line drawn b/t righteous use of skill and talent and something used for evil. unfortunately, there will always be those who twist the good for nefarious purposes.
there's an upside to that, too...lab-grown organs to bridge the gap in organ donors vs those that need them. nerve regeneration. the point is to recognize when something is being used for evil and to call it out.
organ growth and nerve regen is totally different than trying to create life. speaking of i wonder how that would actually work. (the original post) because we are more than a body we have a soul and if you try to make a human in a lab they wont have a soul
I'm not religious, but just because an option is present doesn't mean it is intended to be the path forward. Just because a road has no guard rails doesn't mean I should step out into traffic.
In religious terms our free will can be for good or evil. I am not religious and I do not agree with the implications of this 'breakthrough.' Its like discovering a minefield.
God also put the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil in the garden of Eden. Just because we can do something doesn't mean it's ok to do it, or that he wants us to.
It’s like all you people who know everything about God never even read the first fucking chapter in the Bible. “God should have just never made the tree of knowledge or the forbidden fruit. He never should have made it an option” 😂 damn it’s like sometimes I wanna bow down to the genius level IQs of people like you
let me know how that goes as your morality becomes based on literally nothing but whatever the popular opinion of the day is, and in reality the forced opinion of whatever govt u happen to reside under
If religion is bullshit, then morality is just whatever you personally like AND can enforce. If man is the highest moral authority, then a man who likes rape is sinless.
It never ends well when man tries to play God.

All gods are the idle playthings of the Gates, Maos, and Soros's of yesteryear.

Saving life is different from trying to snuff it out (abortion) or creating it.

So your against all test tube babies by religious married couples?
Then god would have made it an impossibility to create this situation. God is all knowing. So god knew it was going to happen.

...and its antithesis, the Cross in the barren Golgotha, which repaired the corruption in the Garden.

Its all bullshit made by man to keep the man in line.

if God had to make it impossible for you to do evil, then you would have to be born without a body or even not be born at all, even easier.
So God chose to give you a body and all the freedom that comes with it, but to hold you completely responsible for how you use that freedom.
