Yeah, in a very real sense you’ll either have very mutated genetics or death. And modifying a cell that uses mitosis to make it go through meiosis again, as the “egg”... it is already excessively dangerous to any poor soul being brought into the world, assuming they even make it to birth from the woman who has to carry them.

As far as I learned, meiosis can only happen once, and you can’t put it back in the bottle again, so to speak. What if instead of 4 daughter cells being produced, only 2 are successfully formed? Or 3? With the number of recombinations and mutations the skin cells endure, would it be like cloning and have a reduced lifespan?

Just seems ridiculously unnecessary.
