22
Weallseethetruth 22 points ago +25 / -3

That's not true... The same UFO reports have been being made since the days of the pharaohs... Christopher Columbus saw one just before he landed in America.... Alexander the great wrote in his journal that during a battle two flying fiery Shields came down in between the midst of battle and both sides threw their Spears at it and arrows at it and it did nothing to the shields but while the enemy were staring and shooting at the shields Alexander moved his army around their flank and beat them.... There's another story from 1850 something that these canoers were charting part of America they were riding down their canoe down the river and they saw a bright light come down from the sky come parallel with the river and then the next thing they remember is they are 5 mi down river at their destination and they didn't remember anything....there have been sightings for as long as humanity has been here I think they have a lot to do with our progression and our evolution... Aliens are real y'all and anyone who just shuns them away have not really looked into AT ALL!! We talk in here about how the government manipulated people... Well you bring up UFOs and your laughed at... They didn't even have to lie themselves!!.... Think about how big the universe really is and don't think in the parameters of what we are capable of.......

Full Maria Bartiromo interview with former DNI John Ratcliffe:

Maria Bartiromo John Ratcliffe UAP Disclosure

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67Pe5ovBtxE

The whole UFO/UAP (unidentified aerial phenomena) subject has been gaining momentum in the news in the last few years.

Links for anyone interested in digging deeper:

In 2017, the New York Times published a story about the Pentagon UFO program, which brought the issue more into the mainstream, despite the leftist bias of the newspaper:

Glowing Auras and ‘Black Money’: The Pentagon’s Mysterious U.F.O. Program

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/16/us/politics/pentagon-program-ufo-harry-reid.html

In 2020, the Pentagon released an official statement regarding three videos showing UAP, from several notable incidents in 2004, 2014, and 2015, in which fighter pilots based aboard the USS Nimitz and USS Theodore Roosevelt observed and filmed UAP, known as the FLIR, GOFAST, and GIMBAL videos.

In other words, the government acknowledged that these videos are real, and they do in fact show UFOs/UAP:

2020 Tucker Carlson interview with Commander David Fravor, retired Navy pilot who observed and filmed a "Tic Tac" shaped flying object in 2004, along with his fellow pilots, which appeared to move rapidly in all directions with no obvious acceleration or exhaust, in a way which is not apparently possible with technology presently known to the United States government or military.

Some have speculated this and other sightings and alleged recovered UAP materials could represent a gravity control propulsion system, rather than known reaction propulsion systems:

2019 Joe Rogan interview with Bob Lazar, former Los Alamos National Laboratory physics researcher, who claims to have worked at a facility called S-4, connected to Groom Lake/Homey Airport/Area 51 in the 1980s, in which he observed and experimented on aerial craft of unknown origin and composition.

Although critics have tried to discredit Lazar and question his educational, employment, and legal history, he is on video in 1989 talking about Element 115, gravitational wave theory, and other scientific concepts which would not be widely known or directly observed until the 2000s/2010s:

2019 Joe Rogan interview with Lazar and Corbell, which eventually led to the "Storm Area 51" Facebook meme and event:

The reason aliens won't make their presence known has to be because we're still squabbling about petty bullshit like race. They don't need toxic baggage like that fucking up interplanetary relations. Probably for our own good, too; just imagine BLM with a platform in the Galactic Senate on Coruscant. They'd righteously vote to have the Death Star blow us up.

Edit: what I wrote is what's known as a joke.

Just because I didn't get all Arthur C. Clarke with it doesn't mean I think alien races wouldn't have similar problems or effectively be gods, etc. Calm down, spergs.

45
russianbot4673 45 points ago +46 / -1

why does everyone just assume aliens are not warlike or they have no racism or whatever kind of thing, like they're all a bunch of super advanced yodas who are soooo much better than us? wouldn't aliens have almost necessarily had to go through all the same types of formative shit as us? first of all, life itself is very violent. whether you believe in god or evolution or both, even down to single celled organisms, they're waging war all over the planet, devouring each other alive, constantly. then you have predators like lions, ripping out some deer's guts while it's still alive. violence is what made us have to use our brains and develop weapons. violence is actually what produced us and our capacity for intelligence. this is what liberals never seem to get.

how could there possibly be a planet where aliens are 100% 'peaceful' and always have been? do they have finite resources at any point in their history? yes, of course they did or still do. then they had war. chances are they lived among predators too, i mean how could there be a world without those? i can't honestly imagine any other possibility but that the vast majority of all 'intelligent' life was warlike in it's early history at the very least. perhaps they reach some level where they go 'beyond' that, but guess what that means? they need to stfu and not judge us merely for not being at that point ourselves yet. otherwise they'd be hypocrites.

and yet all i see is countless movies/stories playing off of this idea of aliens judging us on some moral level for how 'bad' we are. it's fucking stupid. we are what is in our nature, and we are of nature. or we're of god. either way we're what we were made to be.

11
cuhboose 11 points ago +11 / -0

Well that is adapted from a majority of science fiction, which pictures aliens as being peaceful to come save us from something.

The reality of it, if they have survived a great filter, have become a type 2 or 3 civilization, realistically they would gain nothing from us in terms of resources. There are no "rare" resources that they would run out of that they wouldn't be able to either generate themselves or find from uninhabited worlds.

The other idea though is for a civilization to become type 2 or 3, they would have to squabble their internal conflicts. What people seem to think is done peacefully can also be done forcefully where one warring side conquered the other. I agree, there is no reason to assume aliens wouldn't come and murder us.

I think it is more viewed of as us to ants. We see one ant outside, don't even blink an eye even if we see it. Then again, there are those that are asshats and take a magnifying glass to them, which would be bad for us.

11
Psilocybik 11 points ago +11 / -0

Diversity is the great filter. If the most intelligent race is outbred and held down via 'democracy', then the planet is doomed.

3
deleted 3 points ago +3 / -0
3
FireannDireach 3 points ago +3 / -0

"The majority of science fiction" is something I disagree with, unless you mean the watered down science fiction of Hollywood, because science fiction literature has explored all of the facets of what other races and being would be like, and it's not "peaceful" in the majority of it. The best example is Larry Niven's Mote In God's Eye, that is about meeting another civilization pretending to be peaceful, but when they start to look behind the curtains, see something quite familiar. I could post a list of many, many books that explore the idea of violent and predatory alien species, you insult the entire genre claiming they've presented only one concept of alien.

1
WuhunFastFoodCourt 1 point ago +1 / -0

Larry Niven has given the world so many concepts that diffused from science fiction into real world common usage. Besides the moties, protectors demonstrate that just because you're smarter than shit doesn't mean that you have free will. One's biological programing can override that.

1
RedditIsCommunist 1 point ago +1 / -0

Well, one problem with sci fi is that the boring and harmless concepts don’t make for much of a story. I mean imagine the galaxy is filled with some flying automatons that just collect information for their own entertainment or something but otherwise don’t do anything meaningful to anyone like us. That wouldn’t make for a very interesting book because there’s no conflict or plot really.

2
russianbot4673 2 points ago +2 / -0

it is taken from a lot of science fiction but you're missing my point. that science fiction is using those hypothetical aliens as a way to criticize humans! the author is actually using their sci-fi story to make criticisms of people, or even specific "evil" "war-like" nations, typically the US. so fuck them.

and that sci-fi is stupid anyway, because the idea that those aliens are entirely peaceful, and especially if the idea is that they always have been peaceful for their entire history of civilization, that's completely idiotic. how does a race become intelligent with no war or violence in its history? and even if that could happen (maybe it could), it'd almost surely be down to some very rare scenario like a planet that somehow has abundant resources where nobody ever needs to fight to survive. but it'd be even more complicated than that.

they either may or may not come to kill us, may or may not need or want anything from us, but when people say they would look down on us for being so savage and warlike and racist and STUPID and all these other things, it's just that person virtue signalling by projecting their perceived ills onto the world. whether they're a sci-fi author, or some idiot online. and i'm saying it's ironic of them to do that because that statement is actually betraying their own stupidity. because violence is 100% inherent in life, it's 100% a part of life. the vast majority of creatures that lived on this planet lived under the law of kill or be killed. or at least, try not to get eaten by either fighting or running. every day. the vast majority of life has been a struggle with violence. how the fuck can these hypothetical aliens be 'above violence', exactly?

1
cuhboose 1 point ago +1 / -0

I mean for us to actually say anything on the terms of aliens of how they act or behave is just dumb. This is the same kind of thought exercise of a monkey understanding and grasping our intentions and actions.

And that is for life that developed on Earth. Maybe on another planet where aliens came from, there was no need for the fight for survival. Maybe all species grew up in harmony? It's quite ignorant for us to assume that they could be anything other than how we portray ourselves.

We only have observed life here on this planet and thus can only say the whole "the strong survive", but it be completely different else where.

1
russianbot4673 1 point ago +1 / -0

no, it's absolutely not dumb. there's a thing called statistics. and statistically speaking, if you take one example of a large group, you are likely to have an average example of that group. are there outliers? sure.

but the idea that we ourselves are that outlier, it'd be like winning the lottery.

if you, as a supposed trump supporter, want to go out of your way to assume that maybe we are outliers in the universe, that we are much dumber, more violent, more prone to things like racism, violence, and war, than the typical, average species, then fine, be my fucking guest. me? i'd rather not be a stupid asshole.

because chances are, we are AVERAGE. that's literally what average means. there is a higher chance that we are average, than there is that we are an outlier. that's what all of these words literally mean. i'm going to go with the odds, and assume that we are probably normal, and average. maybe we're not. but it's LESS LIKELY.

and also, for a species to somehow come to be, on some other planet, where they need no violence, would almost have to be a VERY abnormal situation.

here are some facts that we know: a) here on earth, all forms of life need food to survive. b) food is a finite resource. c) plants can get food from sunlight, but it seems pretty clear that at least here on earth, sunlight couldn't power an animal with muscles. muscles burn more energy. plants don't move, so they don't need as much. hence they can get by just taking their energy from the sun. animals need more, hence they have to eat something that already has done the job of collecting that energy, either plants, or other animals. d) therefore, animals are going around eating not just plants, but other animals e) that itself is violent. for all of animal history on our planet, animals have been violently eating each other f) we humans CAME FROM THAT REALITY and had to live in it and DEAL WITH IT. by learning how to be violent ourselves. by learning how to fight so we don't get eaten, and how to kill so we can eat.

now, maybe you can go ahead and use YOUR brain, to give me an example of a world where somehow, there are just magically, these intelligent beings, who never had to be violent at any point in their history. even though literally all life on earth has had to deal with violence constantly happening all around it. life here on earth has been almost nothing BUT a struggle to survive in the face of a likely, violent death. are you saying that maybe there's a planet where animals don't need to EAT? or have you just not ever actually thought about this?

1
cuhboose 1 point ago +1 / -0

God you are mentally retarded and ignorant to the extreme. And I would go into it more, but my big brain has better use than trying to explain things to you in your simple minded reality of what you can only observe, immediately dismissing all other possibilities. Just like there are planets made of fucking diamonds, it rains emeralds and rubies on others, you can't say that life found a a way without being violent to itself?

Such limited imagination, no wonder we lose on a constant basis and the left think they are smarter than us, when we have people like you representing our side.

1
russianbot4673 1 point ago +1 / -0

yeah but see retard, the possibilities you mentioned are RARE. of course there COULD be, in all of the possibly endless universe, some form of life that developed into intelligence but had no violence in their background. it would likely be really fucking rare though. and there would have to be a stack of weird variables in play, such as maybe the animal-like life there can move around with muscles but also can use something like photo-synthesis to get energy from their sun, and it gives them enough energy to actually move around without requiring eat other beings.

and you know what? them evolving on a planet like that wouldn't make them morally superior to us for not being violent. it would just make them freaks of nature, outliers. you fucking moron.

1
side_o_beef 1 point ago +1 / -0

Even simpler than the food argument, nature is incredibly destructive. Comet impacts, gamma ray bursts, and coronal mass ejections have all happened to this planet too many times to count. The laws of physics are violent and hence WE are violent.

1
russianbot4673 1 point ago +1 / -0

for sure! i've talked about this for years and on other occasions i've mentioned star explosions etc, the entire universe is super violent.

if you argue with a liberal about this and try to get them to admit that violence is a very inherent part of nature, chances are they will say 'stars are inanimate so that doesn't count', or they'll even try to differentiate between a lion being violent and a human. 'its not the same'. i've had that argument a bunch. it's a real kind of scientific sticking point with me, the whole idea that violence or war "is bad", when nature produced us with the capacity to do those things, so those things are entirely natural, and we descended from countless violent species, and exist in a hyper violent universe.

and my favorite irony is that if you believe in evolution, as most liberals do, and if you have a brain, you'd have to acknowledge that violence was probably the KEY driving force behind it, and especially for humans, to develop their superior brains. without violence there would've been no motzart, einstein, or basically anyone with any brains to do anything at all. and that includes to argue with someone that violence is 'bad' and not 'inherent in nature'. they couldn't even argue against you about it without violence having produced their capacity to argue. but try to get a liberal, irl or online somewhere, to accept this point about violence or even war. i'd shit myself if you managed to. the whole concept goes against all of their retarded platitudes. which is why i love debating/arguing it with them.

WhitePowerRanger 7 points ago +7 / -0

I think everyone assumes they’re peaceful because they haven’t blown us to shit or attacked us in any way yet. (Not saying they’re real. Just saying there have been countless “sightings” thru the ages and if they have the technology to get here and fuck around in our atmosphere, I’m sure they’re packing some heat too and they’ve never used it on us.)

5

If aliens have interstellar travel at relativistic speeds they could conquer/exterminate us easily. It wouldn't even be a contest.

1
Aambrick 1 point ago +1 / -0

Take any normal metal, take its temperature down to 50 Kelvin(-260 to -270 degree Celsius range) then run an opposite charge from it, and finally pump the power and rotation very fast(like 500-2000 RPM[normally depends on mass/weight so 50k RPM for heavy lifting]) gives you antigravity with electromagnetic push.

We have the tech its just so expensive that its unpractical even in testing(which is like 3000x more expensive than just using rockets). A strong electromagnetic force of opposing sides might be the solution because it is limited to power supply and material instead of temperature. Problem is we do not have fusion, and people are way to scared to use fission even it is was a TMSR.

russianbot4673 1 point ago +1 / -0

well everyone assuming that for that reason, are not smart people.

another, more likely assumption would be because the nearest stars are still light years away. stars beyond that can be hundreds or thousands or millions of light years away. that means it'd take light thousands of years to go that distance. einstein's theory of relativity (which has held up for like 100 yrs) says nothing can accelerate up to let alone surpass the speed of light. so that means any kind of ship simply flying through space, will be going LESS than light speed, and take MORE than thousands of years to get here. so they'd have to have some means, some system of travel that depends on physics we do not yet have ourselves, that somehow allows them to travel FASTER than light, to make traveling those distances even feasible. could there be some loophole in physics that they are using to do that? yeah. but you're outright assuming they can and have, which isn't a smart assumption. what if the speed of light just really is a hard limit and there's no way around it? you don't know. it could be. and if it is, it'd take incredible amounts of time to travel between stars.

so your statement is basically outright assuming that the aliens have the tech to not only traverse vast distances, but that they'd even have any reason to come here and wipe us out. traveling between stars would either take incredible amounts of time, or energy. why do they need to come HERE of all places, and kill us? if they need a planet, even one with water, couldn't they probably find one that's uninhabited? your logic that the fact that they haven't killed us as proof that they're peaceful, is just majorly fucking flawed. there's a million other reasons they haven't come here to kill us. the major difficulty in going that far being the first one.

Because there aren’t any resources on the planet that are rare - except of course life

So any alien species wouldn’t have any need to try to conquer, enslave or destroy any more than we feel like we need to destroy an anthill to harvest the dirt and protein

Not that it’s impossible, it’s just unlikely - the requirements to get around vast distances in space would require a lot of other needs to be solved

We used to think water was rare and our blue planet status would make us a target - but nah - there’s nothing rare on the earth

It’s far more likely that the universe is so devoid of life that any discovery of it would cause the reaction that we have today if we found an extinct population

So I don’t think aliens if they exist would be trying to ‘save’ us - except if some mass extinction event was coming like an asteroid - but we might be the ultimate curiosity

1
russianbot4673 1 point ago +1 / -0

look, you mistook what i said. i wasn't talking about them coming here to take OUR resources. i was saying that in their own history as a race of beings, back on their planet, they probably almost surely warred with each other, for the finite resources, on their own planet.

and what i'm saying is, this liberal notion that aliens are superior to us morally because they are peaceful and we're a bunch of warlike savages, is fucking retarded. MAYBE the aliens have 'advanced beyond war and violence', but my point is, even IF that were the case, they would almost surely still have war and violence in their own past. so fuck them for judging us.

but really though, it's not these hypothetical aliens judging us. it's the idiots here on earth who say those things, or the hollywood directors putting those types of ideas in movies. they're the ones judging us, using hypothetical aliens as a vehicle to do it. they're the ones saying that we earthlings are somehow extraordinarily stupid and/or warlike. it's fucking stupid. and statistically it's not likely. what is likely, is that we as a civilization, are advancing at the typical, normal, average rate. that we have had the typical, normal, average, and even "natural" amount of violence and war in our history.

libs just love to shit on humans and especially the US for being 'violent and warlike' and it's just bullshit.

They could be a spacefaring race of wasps or something with no concept whatsoever of things like affection or emotion

1
russianbot4673 1 point ago +1 / -0

ok yeah. but if you're suggesting that is the reason they have no violence: a) wasps are violent, they go around stinging shit, either for defense or offence

b) violence isn't always because of emotion. in fact, the vast over-whelming amount of violence that has happened on earth, had nothing to do with emotion. a lion eating it's still-living prey is very violent, but the lion didn't do it to be mean.

c) wars have often been about resources, not emotions. so if those wasps see something we have and they want, they might kill us to take it. emotion has nothing to do with it.

1
CommieCucker 1 point ago +1 / -0

No, i'm saying that might not give two flying fucks about killing and eating all of us if they never developed traits that lead to the concept of morality. That's what i'm saying.... they might be so different that they DON'T EVEN COMPREHEND MORALITY, which is what I meant by potentially lacking affection or emotion.

1
russianbot4673 1 point ago +1 / -0

ok but my overlying point all along has been that statements like "aliens wouldn't like us because we're morally inferior due to pollution, violence, war, racism, etc etc etc" really say more about the person saying it than it does about aliens. because the aliens they're talking about aren't here so we don't really know what they'd do or why. it's just some jackass person talking out their ass and virtue signalling about how THEY think all those things are bad and asserting how they are themselves above those things. it's just some virtue signal by proxy through hypothetical aliens bullshit, is what it is.

1
Slugbert 1 point ago +1 / -0

Anytime another culture meets another culture that's technologically inferior, the tech inferior culture becomes subjugated (and sometimes outright exterminated) by the more advanced one. No reason to believe ET's wouldn't behave likewise.

2
bighomiebeenchillin 2 points ago +3 / -1

but that stops being true once one civilization becomes advanced enough to da point that they no longer need to compete with and wipe out da less advanced civilization. in fact, da advanced civilization will go out of their way to avoid disturbing or harming them in any way.

exactly like what’s goin on with that uncontacted sentenal island tribe near india. we literally made it against international law to mess with them or even interact with them lmao. 500 years ago that tribe woulda been blown tf out and pillaged by a more advanced civilization of da time. not anymore.

2
russianbot4673 2 points ago +2 / -0

yeah i mean either they invade or kill us or they don't. but what i won't accept, personally, is them acting high and mighty with regards to us, because they are 'above' things like war or violence or whatever. i think that whole concept is some retarded liberal talking point. whenever i see anyone anywhere say something like 'aliens wouldn't want anything to do with us because of how stupid we are' i just think that person is speaking for themselves. because it's stupid to not understand that if, say millions or billions of civilizations of intelligent beings exist across the universe, we would be just one of those, and statistically speaking we would be a typical, average, normal example. not hyper violent, or less violent, just an average normal amount of violence and warlike activity. it also seems to me that violence is a part of life and so is, almost certainly, war.

any civilization on a planet where there are finite resources, that has intelligent beings that want or need those resources, would naturally have some of those beings get the idea 'hey, we could take that shit from those other guys'. even some apes conduct 'war' on other groups. the idea that somehow these hypothetical aliens simply don't have any capacity for 'bad things' is just a fucking joke, and that whole concept is a liberal talking point used as a way to badmouth humans in general, but also more importantly, the most powerful nation(s), ie the united states. that's all that shit is. a way to say america is violent and bad.

1
Slugbert 1 point ago +1 / -0

1
russianbot4673 1 point ago +1 / -0

there's no reason to assume that any particular aliens (lets say, hypothetical aliens who are going to visit us tomorrow) would be peaceful now, at this time in their history. but there's certainly no reason to assume that they are somehow so morally superior to us that they've never had anything like war or violence in their entire history. aliens who never at any stage in their development, had war? so they're better than us morally? really? how is that even possible?

i think it'd be very difficult to imagine a scenario where live gets to a point of intelligent beings with civilizations on some planet somewhere, without having any war in their history leading up to that.

violence is 100% a part of nature. animals violently kill each other for food. some apes even raid other 'tribes' of apes in what appears to be war-like raids. but even animals eating each other is 100% an example of natural violence. we live in a violent world. animals will kill you simply to eat so they can stay alive. how could our history as humans have not included tribes killing each other for the superior hunting grounds, or agricultural grounds (with better soil etc), or merely to take whatever it is that this other group has and which you want? it's simply not possible. living creatures understand that if you don't have what you need, you die, and that dying isn't good, and that starving hurts. out of pure instinct, war is going to happen.

i'm making the argument that violence and war itself are 100% inevitable products of nature itself. for libs to make a blanket statement like 'war is bad' would be like someone saying 'waterfalls are bad'. it's part of nature. now, i wouldn't deny that you could say 'hitler trying to take over europe was bad', ok. but us going there to stop him wasn't. and war itself as a concept can neither be good or bad, nor can violence. it's simply a part of nature. nature itself produced it. it's fucking ironic to me that libs pretend to love nature but they declare certain parts of it to somehow be 'bad' or 'wrong'. yet nobody points at a lion ripping out a gazelles guts while it's still crying out and says 'BAD LION!' but that reality of predator prey relationship is what made us intelligent in the first place. it's why we can read, write, drive, fly, talk, or do just about anything. we had to get smarter than lions or they'd eat us.

23
CommieCucker 23 points ago +25 / -2

People get the notion of aliens way wrong.... you gotta realize that if they exist, they could be millions or even billions of years older than us... they wouldn't be flying around in spaceships, they'd be folding space and time, and they wouldn't be forming intergalactic councils, they'd be seeding planets like gardens and treating us like an ant farm. They wouldn't be "humanoid space neighbors," they'd be demigods.

1
Klown_Schwab 1 point ago +1 / -0

Isaac Arthur on (science and sci fi Youtuber) did video on that.

Maybe aliens have some Prime Directive type non-interference policy and earth is a galactic nature preserve. And the UFOs we see are illicit tourists or treasure hunters or something.

That would actually explain the apparent incompetence of the UFOs. Like crash landings, sometimes it seems like they're minding their own business then realize "oh shit the earthlings noticed us" and zip away, there was a guy in JRE recently who claimed he was abducted by aliens after they landed a craft near him, accidentally injured him, took him aboard to patch him up then tried to wipe his memory but it slowly came back to him in the following months.

This kind of incompetence is surprising from a super advanced interstellar civilization unless it's some yahoo running an under the table tourist operation or teenagers stealing their parents UFO and taking it for a joyride lol.

Have you ever seen “Are You Afraid of the Dark”? It was basically a kids version of the Twilight Zone on Nickelodeon in the 90s. It was a surprisingly good show. Near the end of the series they had an episode where 2 kids accidentally broadcast a song they played into space and it’s intercepeted by aliens. They’re “stalked” throughout the episode and they’re captured by the end when the alien’s mother shows up and says the tones they sent were an invitation to play to her child and he was playing a game with them. It was 7 seasons and is actually pretty decent most of the way through.

They tried a new ice age, then global warming, then climate change, and now, fuck it... ALIENS.

Or maybe the globalists are just way behind schedule and the alien overlords are getting impatient and ready to move in and they're just socially engineering us to be ready psychologically within the next 10 years.

The vehicles in these videos look like they are using engines that accelerate them with field-based propulsion, as opposed to the "push based" propulsion we use for our vehicles.

Think of it like this. When you're in a car, it accelerates the occupant (you) by pushing against your back with the seat. This is why you feel squished when you hit the gas too hard. Your back is being pushed forward while your front wants to keep moving at its current speed. Too much push and you'd be crushed to death. This is why pilots feel G-force.

If you accelerated every part of your body equally at the same time, you would feel no force. That's why you don't feel "squished" when you fall.

These vehicles seem to operate based on that principle. They're capable of actions that would destroy a vehicle if attempted with a conventional engine, because they aren't using conventional engines.

listen to the joe rogan interview with Bob Lazar, he's describing inertial dampening fields... where things inside the bubble aren't effected by inertia/relative motion so they can stop on a dime, make 90 deg turns at high rates of speed, and accelerate without the limitations the rest of us have to deal with.

if true it changes everything, and Bob's story hasn't changed in decades, his "predictions" about advanced tech all ended up panning out... even biometric bone scans for security and "undiscovered" elements.

some would argue that the "next element" on the chart is easy, you just add another unit of atmoic weight and name it something... but he was claiming to have worked with element 115 back in the 70's.

it was officially "discovered" in 2003

he knew an awful lot about it for "just projecting"

if you get a chance, i'd highly recommend watching the full joe rogan podcast with Lazar, i think you'll find it very interesting considering everything you just talked about is everything Bob talked about when describing the craft he claims to have worked on.

https://youtu.be/BEWz4SXfyCQ

4
DeadOverRed 4 points ago +5 / -1

You would feel "squished" if you fell fast enough- 1G isn't going to do it. While some physicists have proposed that there may be ways to avoid things like inertia, I don't think anyone has been able to do it yet.

6
phandaal 6 points ago +6 / -0

Acceleration from a field would only harm you if the field were very uneven, like gravity near a black hole. The difference in gravity between your head and feet would tear you apart.

If every point in space moves at the same time under a relatively even force, there cannot be any "squish."

Inertia matters from the standpoint of how much energy is needed to produce a field that would move the object. That's a problem for the power source.

2
DeadOverRed 2 points ago +2 / -0

Ok, I got you. Just pointing out that a small body, like yours or mine, being drawn to a larger one, like the planet earth, is not an example of field acceleration. But yes, transporting a field from one location to another without accelerating is the general idea.

And, if you could appear at that point moving at a much higher speed relative to the observer's point of reference so that you appear to have accelerated very quickly, it would scare the crap out of dumb people who didn't know what was happening.

2
phandaal 2 points ago +2 / -0

Gravity is close enough for government work haha. The underlying mechanism is probably something that would require a more accurate understanding of reality than we have to describe completely.

I like Lee Smolin's work - if space itself is non-local, it would explain quite a bit of what we think of as "weird" interactions.

1
DeadOverRed 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'll have to check it out.

3
sentient-potato 3 points ago +4 / -1

Yes, but that would assume there are squishy bodies in the crafts. There may not be.

2
orange-man-bad 2 points ago +2 / -0

The craft itself would be subject to the extreme forces whether beings were inside or not. Accerating inanimate objects puts pressure on them causing all sorts of stresses. Using techniques that avoid this would make sure the craft can be sustained longer without having to do maintenance.

1
phandaal 1 point ago +1 / -0

Avoiding the strain caused by g-force would also allow for lighter construction, which would reduce the energy needed to stay in flight.

1
phandaal 1 point ago +1 / -0

Bob Lazar's stories about aliens and element 115 might be total bullshit, but the idea behind the engine he discussed isn't bullshit. The theory is rational. We just don't know how to build something like that.

2
FireannDireach 2 points ago +2 / -0

The ONLY people who discuss his bullshit seriously are worse than he is. Don't go down the element 115 rabbit hole. There's nothing down there.

When you realize how much of the UFO crowd is poisoned by Lazar's bullshit, then you can look at any of it rationally. Lazar is a liar, always was. Everything he lied about - element 115, massive hangers in mountains, aliens living there, it all came from him and forms the foundation of the bullshit peddlers like Jeremy Corbell.

I don't "believe" in UFOS - I can neither prove they exist, or prove they don't. I'm perfectly willing to believe they might. But I went down the Lazar rabbit hole, and it's all a fraud - and everything that his fraud touched, is a fraud by association.

It’s almost like human beings are able to concentrate on more than one thing at a time. Also the stuff that we usually put our time into is stressful as fuck.

Let the alien/ufo believers have some fun. Maybe read the article and the comments here, some of it’s pretty interesting.

2
Oskar 2 points ago +2 / -0

Two hours later and this nonsense is still stickied.

Bob Lazar told us all this shit ages ago and a report will (maybe) come out in a few months. Why is this even news?

8
Brucesky420 8 points ago +10 / -2

That video has been public for multiple years already and it's pretty much been discussed 1000 times over. This isn't exactly new news

7
DickTick 7 points ago +8 / -1

The DNI, who was just in office months ago, discussing it on primetime is brand new....

You're only talking about the picture they use for the article, but it has absolutely nothing to do with the overall discussion.... he doesn't talk about anyone instance.

You apparently didn't watch the segment or read the article.

8
russianbot4673 8 points ago +8 / -0

ok guys, so i know here at the hivemind, literally EVERY. SINGLE. THING. now, is 'just a distraction'. this is jurst a derstraction i tells ya!

but uh... it's a guy named JOHN RATCLIFFE who is the one talking about this... he was appointed to that position by a guy called Donald Trump.

so are we now saying that Trump's pick John Ratcliffe, who I always thought seemed like a good guy, is 'in on' the 'derstraction i tells ya!' game?

really?

so now we live in a world where things can't happen anymore. it's simply not allowed to have more than one fucking thing happen all around the planet because the second thing is and always must be a fucking distraction? are you people a bunch of fucking retards or what?

i guess for the next 4 years, any single fucking thing that happens is 'just a distraction' from... i guess from the fact that biden is president? or ok he stole the presidency. and so any other thing that the news talks about is all a hoax, isn't real, and is just a distraction, i guess.

what if THAT is the distraction? what if the distraction is that now we can't talk about any single thing that happens because you clowns constantly call everything that happens a distraction. so now they'll be able to get away with everything just by actually talking about it, because you'll just knee-jerk, hivemindedly shout in unison "distraction!" and ignore it.

2
ponyboy72 2 points ago +2 / -0

Sure, multiple things can be discussed other than the administration. But, if I hear about aliens, flat-earth, or any other number of inane topics I'm gonna knee-jerk on it. Distraction or whatever other term you wanna give it. And, no, I don't give a crap that Ratcliffe is talking about it.

2
russianbot4673 2 points ago +2 / -0

first off it's kind of ridiculous to compare aliens to flat earth. aliens almost surely exist, flat earth definitely absolutely, 100% does not. the question is could aliens somehow have the tech to actually come here from light years away. and the answer there could be probably not, because of the vast distance involved, but 'they' could have 'dealt' with that by not sending themselves, but something like probes. you know... kind of like how WE already have ourselves, sent out probes, to explore our own solar system?

so it's entirely possible that something like probes have taken an interest in us. is it proven? no. is it possible? yes? is it possible something else is going on, maybe it's just issues with the military sensors? yes. but the point is, and the real question is, is it possible that the US military is seeing things with their sensors that they can't explain, and have been keeping an eye on that situation, because why the fuck wouldn't you do that? you'd want to simply because of the possibility that other countries may have developed something you haven't.

there's nothing about any of this that is nearly as absurd or ridiculous as people like you make it out to be so you can just casually dismiss it. i guess your stance is that the military really isn't seeing anything, they're just making it up, lying, pretending that they have seen things they can't explain. is that possible? yeah, sure. but if you were the guy in charge of the military and you had pilots coming back with stories about objects that seemed to do impossible maneuvers and they even picked them up on camera, and all you did was wave it off and compare it to flat earth, and didn't open some kind of program to investigate it, while more sightings piled up (according to ratcliffe there are many), you'd be the biggest idiot alive.

Would you like a list of other "Trump picks" who turned out to be deep state-involved liars? It might be easier to list the handful who WEREN'T.

1
russianbot4673 1 point ago +1 / -0

oh no i'm fully aware he made a lot of shitty picks. but i never saw ratcliffe as one of them. why do you think he is? is it just because of this UFO thing? is this UFO thing the moment where you said "aha ratcliffe is involved in the next big DISTRACTION so he must be another shitty guy" ?

8
MAGAMAGMA 8 points ago +8 / -0

About 25 years ago or so I worked with a guy that was in the military and I forgot what the title of his job was, but he basically monitored radar. I asked him once if he believed in aliens and he said "Let me put it this way. We once tracked an object that flew from the Earth to the moon in 12 seconds"

5
RiverFenix 5 points ago +5 / -0

My step dad is a retired air traffic controller, I asked him a similar question and he said "let me tell you, one time we tracked something on the radar that went from one side of the screen to the other in about 5-10 seconds... we don't have anything that fast." paraphrasing...

I think there is also a combination of incredulity and not actively looking for UFOs that plays a big role in who notices what. Most skeptical people are trying NOT to see anything weird in anything. If the vast majority of "Do you see something to your 11 O'clock?" calls are answered with "Nope", the controller probably goes about his day and notes it in the 'weird' section of his brain that the radar was saying there was something there/near that commercial traffic

The things most people aren’t realizing about “aliens” is that stuff like this doesn’t have to be a space ship with biological aliens inside.

What seems much more likely to me is that the galaxy is full of something like von Neumann probes, but they could also be “rogue” and not under the control of or “working for” some biological civilization.

The other thing people don’t understand is the nature of intelligence. When people imagine an intelligent alien or AI they imagine something with social cognition. Social cognition is what you use to imagine the mind of someone else (or even an animal) and it’s so automatic most people don’t realize they even have social cognition. They just automatically perceive that a live person has a mind and they seem to want this or that or seem to intend to do this or that. It only becomes obvious that someone has social cognitive problems if they’re low functioning autistic and don’t even realize that other people want them to reply to a greeting.

I can’t even type this without social cognition because that’s what’s necessary to have a concept of communicating with other humans who seem to be interested in this subject.

Anyway, the point of all this is that some sort of alien “life” could actually be purely mechanical and have some sort of adaptive intelligence yet have zero social cognition. So it would seem like an automaton and if it “saw” humans it would view them as meat automatons following unknown complex rules. They may have zero reason to “communicate” especially because that’s a social concept; if they did try to signal in any way then it would be more like an attempt to manipulate some other automatons into doing something like outputting information about their internal state or trying to change their behavior for some unknown purpose.

What I’m getting at in short here is that calling this kind of thing “aliens” is misleading because most people are probably imagining the wrong thing. Automatons like this could have been flying around the galaxy for millions of years but they don’t do much from our perspective maybe because they don’t need any resources and only collect information. And we only notice them now because of stuff like radar and the ability to confirm something is there using multiple sensors including eyeballs.

I don’t personally think we need to worry about this. I actually get more suspicious of why the government suddenly decides to declassify stuff about it because, like people say, it could just be another distraction tactic. Or maybe it’s an attempt to crowdsource ideas about various incidents and the timing is meaningless.

ArriveViolently 1 point ago +1 / -0

Most "researchers" on the topic, even the most heralded ones (if that is a thing in UFO research), are pretty much all on the same page now that the most plausible theory is that they are "inter-dimensional" beings/objects. There is also a lot of very agnostic-if-not-athiest researchers who more and more admit that it all sure seems to lead back to "demons"... for whatever that means.

1
RedditIsCommunist 1 point ago +1 / -0

That doesn’t make any sense to me because we have no evidence that anything “inter dimensional” exists at all. That’s just jumping to unnecessarily elaborate conclusions using fantasy terms that don’t have any basis in reality at all.

The things we know exist are: biological life, life that’s intelligent enough to build machines (because we are that life), an unimaginably large universe that has been around for a difficult to imagine amount of time, and we can reasonably extrapolate that one day we’ll create things like AGI and self-replicating, self-improving, self-repairing machines.

Almost all UFO reports are bogus one way or the other. They’re either visual effects that could naturally occur or they’re effects that could easily be reproduced by humans in some way (like slow moving lights in the sky). But my main point here is that even if you have data from multiple sensors showing an object that is beyond human ability to create, the explanation for it could be much more boring than what people would usually assume: that is no “inter dimensional” anything, no biological creatures involved, and not what we imagine to be intelligence.

Well, consider what penguins might think of humans. We're these big, noisy creatures that come to their breeding grounds and stare at them, but since we don't hunt and eat them, they don't seem to mind us, unless we get too close, then they run away.

Then, go find out how the seals see us as these big, noisy creatures that come along and club their kid's heads in and steal the bodies.

Perspective. To think we know everything is human arrogance.

For all the hate downthread, I'd like to say that we're perfectly capable of carrying out many concurrent avenues of interest and enquiry simultaneously. Just because it's not laser-focused on the 'outrage du jour' doesn't mean it's a distraction and therefore unworthy of piquing our interest for its own sake. And, further, those who are so bitter and obsessed about the outrage du jour that they're incapable of taking a moment to think about something else are in danger of becoming the hateful, humorless, singleminded fanatics that they hate the left for being.

Keep in mind, UFO =/= aliens. And we've had people from NASA claiming the Earth is flat and the moon landing never happened. You can find these people in any large enough sample size.

We "didn't have the tech" for stealth aircraft until after we'd already had them flying for literally decades.

Elite tech is a minimum of 30 years more advanced than what you're holding in your hands. It would seem as alien as touchscreen cellphones were back in 1990. They have it. They do predictive programing and soft disclosure in the publishing, television and movie industry. Check out some early 90s tech movies and behold the toys they predicted... hell... G.O back to the 60's and check out those handheld communication devices on Star Trek. Pretty soon your phone will be a pin on button on your chest.

4
ChickenInspector 4 points ago +4 / -0

That tech is already possible, it is just nobody wants a button phone.

They (reptilians) could be disguised as humans, they could be the ones behind all the bullshit, Soros, Hillary, Obama, Kamala, they could all be aliens disguised as humans. I don’t give a fuck what anyone says, extraterrestrials are fake as fuck.

I’m tired of the two stupid Navy videos, too. The flying “rotating” object is the negative image of an exhaust traveling away from the viewer. I saw someone demonstrate this with other videos and it’s pretty cut and dry that it’s the same thing. The small object above the waves is ... well it could be any number of things that hardly need an extraterrestrial explanation. Considering consumers can buy about 1,000 different types of drones, there’s nothing unexplainable about it. Too much has been made of the pilots’ puzzlement.

1
Barron2040 1 point ago +1 / -0

So you’re saying that out of the billions and billions of stars and planets in the universe, which is billions of years old, that we are the only planet that has (or has ever had) the necessary conditions to support intelligent life?

I think people who don’t believe in Aliens are stupid.

"Aliens" may or may not exist......Regardless, most of the people here Im sure believe In God through Jesus Christ. It is possible that God has seeded other Planets, but to a Believer like myself there is nothing crazy about the idea that our Infinite God has created this ever expanding universe filled with stars and galaxies that human eyes will never see Just for the sole purpose of seeing his will done on our tiny rock. I dont completely dismiss the idea of life on other planets, but I do have a complete and utter distrust of our Government......After seeing what they did with Covid and the election I know that their evil and deceit truly knows no bounds. My first reaction is to this story is to assume it's just another distraction story...........
