and really your comment is touching on a truth here. the kind of people (usually liberals) who make any statement like:
"aliens wouldn't want to talk to us because we're so stupid"
the people saying those statements are actually using hypothetical aliens to make a statement criticizing people, themselves. they themselves (the person making that statement) are the ones judging humans (and typically the most advanced nation, being the united states) as evil, stupid, hateful, racist, warlike, violent, etc etc etc.
that's always what it is. "oh look we're killing the planet, waaah!" "we're so stupid and evil look at what we're doing we caused global warming!!! waahhh"
those types of statements about aliens looking down on us are really just vehicles for LIBERALS to bitch about how evil, racist, violent, etc etc etc, they want to portray people they don't agree with as being. and i never see people call the people making those statements out on this. but it's 100% what they're doing. they're projecting, and playing the 'ist' card, against the entire planet or their perceived rulers of the planet (these people think rich republicans who love to pollute are actually in charge of everything, which is why they produced shows like captain planet).
and ultimately it's also a way for them to put themselves ABOVE the things they're criticizing everyone else for supposedly being. they might say 'WE are warlike' but really they don't mean they themselves are. they of course are above that because they're the ones calling it out. it's the same thing with when they call someone racist. it's virtue signalling.
