Wasn't expecting that, but, thank you all the same.

Sometimes the realization hits you even though it was there all along.

We caught flak from my parents for years for homeschooling.

Your parents should be deeply ashamed of how wrong they were/are and owe you an enormous apology.

Home schooling is far superior.

I think people just have difficulty accepting things outside the norm.

For example, people don't want to accept crypto currency because their fiat federal reserve notes are the norm.

But there's lots of reasons why we should switch to crypto and cut out the international banking cartel.

11
DrCowboyPresident 11 points ago +12 / -1

Bbbbut the social aspect of schools!

There's nothing natural about packing 800 kids into a single building. Conform or be cast out!

15
FuckGovernment 15 points ago +15 / -0

I ask my children.

"DO YOU WANT TO GO TO SCHOOL TODAY?"

"NO DADDY"

If the social aspect is so great, why do my children not like it? School is full of authoritarian dictators and bullies and other children who have no morals or discipline. And a bunch of marxists and pseudo-intellectuals.

My children learn much more following me around during the day.

Conform or be cast out? Great, now I've got subdivisions stuck in my head.

Do you see any possibility of supplanting the international banking cartels with crypto? If not, how valuable is digital currency anyway if the power goes out? If you have a solar panel powered comp on your property with a crypto wallet, how exactly do you use your stored wealth to buy cattle from your neighbor? It's a really interesting topic, I have just wondered personally if we're a bit too off the rails to be aiming for something like crypto.

FuckGovernment 3 points ago +3 / -0

How good is your money in your bank account if your power goes out or the bank's power goes out? ATM's rely on electricity. Gas pumps rely on electricity.

You have laptops and cellphones in case the power goes out, right? Battery powered...

Most transactions already happen electronically. Credit cards, ACH transfers, wire transfers, probably even your paycheck deposit.

You can transfer crypto to your neighbor or use crypto to buy something else your neighbor will barter for.

There is a maximum amount of bitcoin that will ever exist. They can't just print more. The Federal Reserve prints as much fake federal reserve notes as Nancy Pelosi wants them to.

And guess who buys most of those USA Treasury Bonds? Chinamen.

Bitcoin isn't the only good crypto.

During the huge M1 money supply printing the last year, the price of bitcoin has gone way up, even outpacing gold.

What good is a stock share in gold?

Did you ever realize that your stock accounts are all fiat too? https://communities.win/c/WSBets/p/12hkd6hi5f/reddit-fag-found-the-rabbit-hole/

Cash is still king.

1
FuckGovernment 1 point ago +2 / -1

Is it?

https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/M1

Your Federal Reserve Notes lose value each and every year.

Crypto gains value each and every year.

3
GiveMe1776 3 points ago +3 / -0

It’s gonna be hilarious when you don’t have power to turn on your computer or charge your phone to access your money because of “green” initiatives

4
FuckGovernment 4 points ago +4 / -0

Just last year there was only $4 trillion in Rothschild Bucks (Federal Reserve Notes)

After multiple trillion dollar lootings of the treasury, there's now $18 trillion in circulation.

In just one year, the pool of money you cling on to has been more than quadrupled.

https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/M1

There's nothing old fashion or American or traditional about fiat currency owned by a foreign international banking cartel of the 0.00000001% You have an opportunity to end the Fed by the actions and decisions and behavior you embark in yourself. Fiat federal reserve notes are only worth what someone is willing to exchange for them. My crypto will increase in value because it is block chained and corrupt politicians and pedophile bankers can't just print it whenever they want.

2
GiveMe1776 2 points ago +2 / -0

I’m not saying the current currency is good, but neither is money dependent of electricity, internet, or anything else that will be turned off because you think the wrong things.

1
FuckGovernment 1 point ago +1 / -0

Crypto is not centralized. They can't just turn off your access to it. They can't even link crypto wallets to you as an individual if you know what you're doing.

2
GiveMe1776 2 points ago +2 / -0

They can turn off your power and internet what don’t you get?

2
FuckGovernment 2 points ago +2 / -0

It's gonna be hilarious for you too. You won't be able to use computers, charge your phone, pull money out of your bank account, keep your food cold, cool or heat your home, use any of your credit cards, use your debit cards, pump gas, etc.

The difference is there's far less ways for government to confiscate crypto. They can't physically seize it. They can't tear down or remove the entire block chain. They couldn't find it even with a warrant.

The government can look at your social credit score and freeze all your bank accounts any time they want, or call you a terrorist, show up with a search warrant, and take all your cash.

I can just memorize a twelve word phrase and take thousands of dollars with me anywhere in the world where the internet can be accessed and move money around undetected by the government.

3
GiveMe1776 3 points ago +3 / -0

You said this:

“ You won't be able to use computers, charge your phone, pull money out of your bank account, keep your food cold, cool or heat your home, use any of your credit cards, use your debit cards, pump gas, etc.”

Then fifty words later said this:

“where the internet can be accessed”

Do you not see how dumb that is when governments are already turning off the electricity of people who disagree with them?

3
FuckGovernment 3 points ago +3 / -0

Lol what are you claiming? That my future will be without electricity?

And if that were the case, what good is an atm or a bank account going to do you? All banks and ledgers require network access.

You're the one making up retarded reasons to not advance to crypto. Clinging on to your worthless rothschild bucks. For every dollar you clung on to in 1912 to today, it'd be worth 3 cents.

1
GiveMe1776 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes, you will be without power. Again, not making a single argument for anything so why are you insulting me?

1
PotBellyGoblin 1 point ago +1 / -0

You can charge a phone with a small solar charger. So funny...

1
LordKuroTheGreat 1 point ago +1 / -0

When that happens, cards will be useless as well, and cash probably banned because someone's 187 year old voodoo powered animated corpse of a grandma might get a mild respiratory bug.

Fellow home school parent. You’ve made the right choice. Oldest opted to go to high school is in the most prestigious program the Commonwealth of Virginia offers, I’m not impressed. Of course as a home school parent you catch a lot of flak from the professional managerial administration class of the school system, were they question the validity of the education you have provided. Of course these same professionals passed a kid in the Baltimore school system with .13 GPA. My only concern with our other children will be what type of discrimination will go on at the collegiate level if the go home school to the end of high school.

GiveMe1776 6 points ago +6 / -0

College is not required for a good life

3
VA_MAGApede 3 points ago +3 / -0

Lot of truth in what you wrote. Trying to encourage looking at the trades. Unfortunately there is a lot of indoctrination, must go to college to be successful. STEM, finance, law, or medical/dental worth pursuing other majors not worth it.

I know the tradesmen I have been dealing with are making ridiculous money. Too many softies who don’t want to get their hands dirty. I try to DIY when practicable.

2
1080pleb 2 points ago +2 / -0

But it certainly can help a lot, depending on the path(s) one wishes to take.

My top-tier ivy degree has helped tremendously, both from the content learned and network gained.

2
GiveMe1776 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yes if you go to college for the right things, it is worth it.

6
MAGAThor 6 points ago +6 / -0

Amen. Even in the event a parent has to quit work & even in the event that means someone needs to sign up for assistance/ebt/food & medical program to do it, at least it is someone with responsible & legitimate need for it for once. Cannot be too proud to use the programs, that is what they are there for. Keeping our kids OUT of those schools is VERY IMPORTANT. Keeping the leftists OUT of our lives, especially out of the ears of our children IS VERY IMPORTANT NOW. I cover it all, even the right way to socialize, here. Three small paragraphs. Please follow, I will be dropping AMMO there on a daily basis on this among a range of topics that we are in need of better ammo for. We homeschooled 4 kids k through 12. We got us a Broadway singer, two computer engineers and a nurse. And all know which bathroom to use and how to make an AR in the garage.

1080pleb 4 points ago +4 / -0

Any recommendations for sources of homeschool info/instruction/gear? Our little one is ~6 months and I'm scared shitless of him entering any sort of public school system. Mommy isn't woke per se, but def. not (yet) on board the Trump Train.

2
TheSleepingPresident [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Abekka has been the best for us. We did the videos.

It can get repetitive but, sometimes we would just let them move on.

3
DeadOverRed 3 points ago +3 / -0

Who gives flak for homeschooling, especially one's own kids? Never understood these people.

12
Madnote1984 12 points ago +12 / -0

My wife and I homeschool our kids. I have a high-school teacher in the family that invested 100k and 8 years into teaching admin education. She is polite about it, but she has expressed her opinions that she doesn't think kids can learn at home. Her entire life and profession is threatened by the thought that anyone can teach their children individually, to a greater or equal standard than they can churn out 40 kids in one class.

4
DeadOverRed 4 points ago +4 / -0

Ah. Yeah, that makes sense.

2
StarGirl 2 points ago +2 / -0

I have a neighbor who ran an illegal "dog pool school" where she claims she teaches dogs to dive and swim. Those dogs didn't need her to learn, and kids learn just fine no matter who is providing them the info.

3
Mummabear20 3 points ago +3 / -0

People give you flak because they feel bad for the choices they made. Also parents never stop being parents and will always think they know what is best.

2
DeadOverRed 2 points ago +2 / -0

Nah, smart parents realize their kids will grow beyond them in whatever area the kid chooses. Of course, "smart" seems to be disappearing from the planet.

1
MakeCaliGr8Again 1 point ago +1 / -0

How do you keep them from wokeness when they go to college? Serious question.

2
TheSleepingPresident [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

I don't know about others.

There are some very specific trade classes that can be done.

Full blown college isn't in the cards for us.

2
Ben45 2 points ago +2 / -0

get them hooked on michael knowles before they leave hs

the childhood you give your kids is important in helping them shape what they want out of life. I grew up with freedom (boy scout trips, general autonomy) and respect for/love of America. Two things leftists don't like so conservatism just makes sense to me. If you can encourage them to read, even if just nonfiction fun books, even better. As they age, the focus on reading will be on more intellectual books - just make sure you have good recommendations.

Be active in what they're learning before they go to hs, ask them what their teachers are teaching and teach your kids yourself based on what they say. Not sure how much parents can really do once the kids are off to college though. Just stay in contact and encourage good clubs for them to join. I think a lot of schools have pro-life clubs and will have conservative clubs. Greek life is good too, can depend on the school and specific chapter tho since greek life is becoming more woke. Sororities are much worse about this but frats aren't lagging behind too far.

Can I ask a few questions? No kids yet, but looking at options beforehand to weigh choices. Do you guys do it yourself or do you have a group? I know some do groups locally. I work, and I kinda wanna keep working...but don't want to send my kid or kids to public school. But I hear bad things about private schools too and they're like 8k a year in our area. Idk...still on the fence about kids too. But I'd like to just get ideas first. Thanks.

We’ve been broke or paycheck to paycheck for most of our marriage. So, I’m not the best example. My wife has Crohn’s and hasn’t ever really had a career per se.

There are home school groups. We went to a church members home school graduation and it was a group but, the meat of the work was still done in the home.

We wouldn’t have been able to do it without my wife there to keep them going. The videos help a lot but don’t ever leave it up to the kid to just do the work. (Should be obvious, but, we nearly lost a year trying a computer based program back around 05 or 06.

My son went to school for a year after we moved because I thought the schools would be better, but, he was losing any desire to learn and was being called out all the time. That’s another story.

The Abekka videos were the best. They kind of get the benefit of a classroom (video) and they have a teacher that actually teaches instead of spending all their time getting on little Johnny. It is Christian based, so, you make the judgement there.

They have a diploma program that requires turning stuff in by deadlines and they build the transcript.

One of ours got her GED and started some college courses. Our youngest took the pre-test for GED and qualified for the more advanced class where you can actually get a diploma after you test out. He could probably pass the test now, but, he wanted to get what he could out of the classes.

You may not have asked for all of that, but, I hope it helps.

No thank you very much for sharing all that. I appreciate it. And I understand everyone has their own unique situations. I know college sure isn't for everyone. Especially now from what I see. I went to a community college and then a small local branch of U of H...so I really don't think it was like I hear things are now. I had contemplated UT when I was younger. But kinda glad I didn't, now that I know more. My husband doesn't have a college degree, but has more skills than 99% of the men we know. I have a lot of skills because I work hard to learn things myself. I'm a do-er, not a person who'd rather have someone else do things for me. But not sure how inclined I am to teach my kid. Plus I like working. I plan on starting my own business, something dog related. Because that's my passion and dogs > people...most of the time. We also have a pressure washing business the husband does. Currently I work for a small company that manufactures...but doubt they'll survive forever with their spending. And their lack of growth or even wanting to grow. Just a cash grab for them. So I want a plan other than that. But anyways, I can probably be involved somewhat in the school stuff if that all works out...but I still don't want to parent 24/7. Some of y'all might hate me for saying that, but that's also why were on the fence...but then we're also both blonde, blue eyed people. Soooo lol but I'd like to learn and figure out what the plan is before we decide so we can prepare. Thanks again. Appreciate it. Also we're not religious, but I definitely agree with teaching kids that and letting them decide for themselves.
