They do this all the time. Another big one is, FFLs and collectors go to the buybacks, make cash offers on rare guns to the people standing in line. The main real guns that get taken off the streets are from gang bangers disposing of pistols that have been used in dozens of murders, so are too hot to keep.

Gun buybacks are a joke

I doubt gangbangers are selling murder guns back at buybacks. I'd hope they aren't that retarded. The cops run serials on the guns they buy.

Those gangbanger specials are almost all stolen guns or straw purchases of cheap guns so they don't mind just dropping a gun in the river or into a dumpster after use.

Buybacks are primarily targeting cucks who inherited guns from a family member, but think guns are evil. Gives them a way to dispose of it and they think they made money on it. So basically, buybacks do nothing to combat crime or even to limit the number of guns being held by patriots. Its purely there to disarm cucks, who would never have risen up against a tyrannical government anyway.

It does matter because cops are getting names and info from the sellers. If you show up and hand them a hot gun, they are going to take your name and the gun serial. They might not run them right there, but they will eventually. Once that gun comes back hot they will run your name and find any warrants.

Its a rare thing to find a gangbanger without a rap sheet.

I'm not saying its impossible to pawn off a hot gun without getting caught, but illegal weapons possession in most high-crime states are 10 year minimums (per weapon) and are subject to 3 strikes laws in some places. If you're a career hood you can get a life sentence for having an illegal gun. Hard to believe too many of these guys are retarded enough to risk it for 200 bucks, but who knows.

Would it even be feasible for them to fake that ID?

Well hold on, I dont think you realize what it takes for law enforcement to actually categorize a "hot" gun..

Essentially, a hot gun can be used in illegal acts, aka murder, change hands and can have the serial run on it many times before they know its a hot gun... I'll explain and cite the source..

Here's how ballistic matching technology works.. I think most people know that if the bullet projectile is in good enough condition.. meaning the projectile did not completely pancake from striking a dense material, like when you shoot steel targets.. then law enforcement can match that projectile to the EXACT gun used..

However, they have to recover that firearm themselves. And then they then take that firearm and discharge it in their lab and recover the casings and the bullet projectile.. so that they can match it to the alleged bullet projectile and/or casings that were found on a murder scene..

So in conclusion, just recovering the casings and bullet projectiles from a murder scene is not anywhere sufficient enough to match it to an exact firearm.

Can confirm about stolen guns. My dad had a Kimber 1911 stolen out of his truck circa 2006 here in Arkansas. I shit you not, in 2019 the state police knocked on his door and gave it back to him (in terrible condition) after they received it in the mail from Los Angeles County police.

Wild that it made its way back here, and we’re 99% sure it was used to kill people. Hahah

Sphinx3peat 45 points ago +45 / -0

Fuck, man. Kimber 1911s are gorgeous. A shame his got destroyed by some piece of shit thief.

Was he able to rehabilitate it?

28
Mooksayshigh 28 points ago +28 / -0

Yup. Just a good cleaning and it’s ready to be used against the gang bangers.

2
Supersoakerjones 2 points ago +2 / -0

For the most part. Sent it back to Kimber and they cleaned it up for like $200 or something. Works perfectly now but it still has visible wear on the metal.

Don’t worry it jammed and they survived.

They run the serial number AFTER the firearm is turned in, and you're able to turn em in anonymously; it's actually a method for gangs to easily dispose of weapons used in crimes.

lolzor21 3 points ago +3 / -0

How are you able to get payment without ID, that's a form of income isn't it? I guess thats some type of rebate or credit is how that is handled?

1
Scumbag-reddit 1 point ago +1 / -0

Usually a voucher for payment or other goods/services.

Most of these programs have a "no questions asked" policy and opens the doors for criminals to dispose of their dirty weapons that way.

ace4545 1 point ago +1 / -0

some do cash, or written "business" checks, which can be cashed in at many places, especially those cash-advance places or loan sharks. some credit unions will cash it in with no questions asked too

Yeah I dunno the logic, but it happens semi regularly here in Chicago.

14
buttholemania 14 points ago +14 / -0

Which is why Chicago has such low gun crime, I bet

6
lolzor21 6 points ago +6 / -0

Good thing all the guns are off the streets eh?

10
Gadsden 10 points ago +10 / -0

Except they do. In huge numbers.

0
Pierre_Delectoes 0 points ago +1 / -1

No they don't. Every study of buybacks has found that most guns turned in are very small caliber weapons (from bb guns to 22 caliber), non-functional guns (homemade shit sticks and broken guns), or guns of a type not common in gun/gang crime (revolvers, antiques, and shotguns).

Any hood smart enough to know to get rid of a hot gun is smart enough to know not to do so at the nearest police station.

Buy a gun at a dealer, they do this already. They are tying to get it happen through private sale.

2
lolzor21 2 points ago +2 / -0

Then, its registration time! But it will basically be the same thing. "laws passed for person to person xfer" then you get fucked by some UC selling you a gun that was already xfered after that law had passed, so your alibi of "got it before the ban" is bs. This is the line.

Background checks do nothing if the shooter has no record (Orlando 2016) or if his info is not up-to-date (Sutherland Springs 2017).

18
ravioli_king 18 points ago +18 / -0

So is that like in Virginia or West Virginia you can sell it to a neighbor or a family member or something without a background check?

If guns are too hot to keep, why not throw it in a body of water or a sewer?

31
RolandDelacroix 31 points ago +31 / -0

Because you can make $200 and piss off the cops? Dunno, not a gang member

29
markolbb 29 points ago +29 / -0

In most states you can sell a firearm in a private sale without any background check. We do it here in FL all the time. Doesn't have to be a family member or anything, you can sell your private property to whoever you want. None of the government's business.

31
HumblePig 31 points ago +32 / -1

You mean, like, with freedom and stuff?

Sounds dangerous, better outlaw it.

5
richgoose 5 points ago +5 / -0

That was a liberty Virginia recently removed. The State Flag motto is "Sic Semper Tyrannis" and they are on a fast track to being cucked hard - sad shit really

ZhouBai-Den 8 points ago +8 / -0

With that gun in the picture, there's too much wood. I think it would float.

bangbus 5 points ago +5 / -0

Need a trigger warning on these posts. A lot of people lost a lot of nice things in boating accidents in the past 18 months.

1
lolzor21 1 point ago +1 / -0

These must have been the only ones that you could grab out of the water, in fact they saved your life because they float!

Gun buybacks are a joke.

A joke funded with our tax dollars.
