Here's the thing though: the VP automatically assumes the presidency if the President dies/resigns/is removed, etc.
The Speaker of the House and all underneath her would only be "Acting President" if both the POTUS/VP were gone. It is unclear if an Acting President can nominate a VP to be confirmed or if the office would just be left vacant.
