Came here just to say this. I had a whole Mardis Gras thing going. Best profile I ever had. Went from that to Facebook. Was like going from a $2000 suit to commie pajamas.

You could customize your background, have a theme song play when people clicked on your profile.. it was the shit

Yep, MySpace let you use basic HTML to customize the look of your page.

Of course, many people sucked at it, which made their profiles complete eyesores.

Hell yeah it did, mine was a montage of atomic test videos and scatt man music that would auto play.
