I've heard of the flat earth argument even the argument of the earth only being about 6 thousand years old, but as a Christian myself I don't believe either one. In fact, the whole use of Genesis as a statement of modern literal thinking should be a bit off. For one we are trying to 1:1 the way we think and believe with what was written in a text that was based on oral tradition some three thousand years ago or more during the time of Moses who wrote the first 5 or Pentateuch of the OT. While scripture is "God Breathed" or "inspired by God" it doesn't mean that he was literally writing you a historical blueprint of the past, when you read Genesis. I do believe however in "Intelligent Design" that is God created everything, and it is scientifically proven through ID that He did. As for dates/times/shape of the earth, etc that is not something one can easily go by. For all we know the 6 days could have been 6 billion years or it could have been 6 minutes.

If the 6 days could be 6 billion years or 6 minutes, then why not 6 days?
