My son is an Eagle Scout. I was on the parents’ committee for several years. The program is actually a great leadership training program dressed up in fun activities like camping, hiking and throwing lots of pointy objects. It is a great shame that the forces arrayed against a program that promotes love of country, God and family have done such damage.
The Girl Scouts, OTOH, suck big ones. I was a leader for years and there is no comparison.
But they said it was foolish to think that allowing a man who likes men to watch over young men while they shower change and sleep would lead to sexual abuse.
