Detective shows are no fun when you can pick out the criminal/villain in the first five minutes, because it's always the white guy, preferably rich, or even better, religious. There was a show out of the UK I watched a bit last year, it got so bad everyone else noticed too. Any preacher or religious person was evil, hypocritical, and often murderous. The rare exception was if it was the woman "preacher" who was open-minded love-the-gays type.
