Leftists want gun control for the same reason they want most things: Because they know they can't be trusted. With guns, with big decisions, with consequences, with anything that matters. If you listen, they'll tell you this over and over again.
From the perspective of their personal narrative, it stands to reason that if they can't be trusted, then you can't be trusted, either.
I have gotten multiple gun control advocates to admit to my face that they personally know if they had access to a weapon, they would use it to murder someone while they were having a fit. It is from that place that their desire for gun control spawns.
The right wants the child to grow up and learn to master its emotions
The left wants to build a better crib so adulthood and responsibility can be avoided entirely
I say all this just to point out: If you think this guy being a leftist/islamist/TDS sufferer/whatever changes the narrative for gun grabbers one bit, you don't get it.
This is extremely accurate but I doubt most leftists are really that self-aware. They really hate what they're told to hate and themselves most of all.
The ability to be introspective, and thus developing a self-awareness of your own motivations, is a direct function of emotional maturity.
Drugs. Video Games. Fornication. Endless schooling. Casual social media 'friendships'. All of these things serve to promote a culture of endless adolescence, because the adolescent mind is basically hard-wired to be a progressive.
Most of us aren't saints but when your vices start to control your life and your world view they stop being minor vices and become serious lapses in character. The left has been hell bent on knocking down the foundations of our society for the last 50 years. It seems that they have in many ways succeeded. We are taught now that a two-parent household is a sure path to toxic masculinity. Gender dysmorphia is considered something to be aspired to???? Chronic adolescence seems another leftist goal.
