Yahweh was a polytheistic ancient Israeli god part of a pantheon until they decided on just him. Look up Yahwism.

Same with Arab pantheon. They had many gods but Allah reigned supreme. It is because with time people worship more and more images beside God. So “Yahweh” was always first. “I am the first and the last”
